When religion tells you not to question, what they are telling you not to question is the answers they give you.

No where in the bible does it say that, only religions teach that and religion was created by men, not by God. If your preacher/priest/religion tells you to not question the doctrine, then it's time to go somewhere else and start following Christ, not religion.

Some religions tell you not to question. Personally, I'd walk the other way.

The Bible is specific -- test and question those claiming to be leaders. You will know them by their fruit.

Take the Bereans for example -- they pleased God by questioning and testing even the great Apostle Paul.

If a religion tells you not to question - look out!. As Christians we question and look for evidence of God and his ways - and in my life he has always shown the truth.

We're not meant to question religion as religion must be right, and if we actually question it we will prove it wrong.

The people that wrote the bible, and many other religions realise that they are full of crap, and therefore inserting a theme of not questioning and just having 100% faith seems like a pretty decent idea.

The Bible says, "Study to show thyself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the Word of Truth.
You must study and know God for yourself. Any religion that tells you not to question or to study it on your own is wrong.

Well it depends what religion.
Christianity encourages questions, and you'll find the answers in the Bible.

I started out questioning. I went to religion and said (in essence) "OK, you've made your claim - now prove it." The result is that I am an atheist because they can't prove anything.

But questions are still good and I know religious people who do question their religion and it works for them.

:)

Religion does tell us to question.
"Ask, and you will be answered."

Depends upon the religion doesn't it. Many Christian religions descourage you from questioning the doctrine as it may lead to apostasy for you. In Buddhism, however, they have a doctrine to "challenge everything."
