Baking soda and water paste. As a home remedy I usually mix the two and rub gently on my face. The salt is good as an antiseptic and also removes the black head. I have done this for years with good results. Rinse well after.

Here are some tips to prevent and remove blackheads

• Cleansing is of utmost importance. Use a cleansing lotion or milk, which is meant for oily skin. Or use a medicated soap. Avoid washing the face with soap more than twice a day.

• A mild astringent should be used to reduce oiliness. Mix some rose water in the astringent if you find it too harsh or strong.

• Use a facial scrub to keep skin pores oil free. You can mix oatmeal or rice flour with curd and use it to rub the skin gently. But, remember to wash your face well with water. For oily skin, use scrub three to four times a week.

• Never try to pinch or squeeze out blackheads, as this could lead to pimples and acne.

• For stubborn blackheads, visit a good beauty parlour and get them removed professionally. The beauty therapist may use steam and employ a special gadget to remove blackheads.

4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.

The secret is never to touch the spots

CAUSES:-
Blackheads are caused by pores blocked with oil. We tend to believe that the black appearance is due to dirt, but in fact, it is simply oil or sebum which has turned black due to the oxidizing effect.
REMOVAL BY STRIPS:-
While it is easy to clean the surface of our face, making sure that our pores are clean takes a little more work than just a perfunctory splash of water.
Blackhead removal strips are readily available at all major departmental stores. All you need to do is to wet the strip, place the strip on your nose, which is where blackheads are very likely to form, leave it on till it dries completely, and peel it off.

You could also try removing blackheads yourself, but make sure you are gentle, or you may cause scarring. Steam your face for around ten minutes with a steamer, or by placing your face over a vessel of boiling water if you do not have a steamer. Form a tent with your towel over your head and around the bowl, to trap the steam. This opens and softens pores, and makes the blackheads easier to remove. Then take a wad of cotton in both hands, and use the cotton to gently squeeze out the blackheads.
PREVENTION:-
Make sure the blackheads dont reappear by exfoliate your skin with a face scrub, to get rid of dead skin so they do not block pores. Use it on your nose, or wherever you have blackheads. Scrub the area gently. Do not be too harsh as you may cause further damage.?

While you need exfoliate your face only twice a week, many women have reported that their blackheads on their nose have totally disappeared after they started using a face scrub on their nose on a daily basis.

You could purchase a face scrub from the market, or make one at home. Beat up the white of an egg, and add a tablespoon of salt. Apply to your face with your fingertips, massaging gently. Wait for it to dry, and wash off with warm water.

You could also make a scrub by adding salt to a lemon and honey mixture. After scrubbing your face, apply a little yogurt to soothe your complexion and balance the pH level.

These are temporary remedies, and blackheads will keep re-appearing unless you target the source. Make sure you keep your skin clean, by cleansing, toning and moisturizing it twice a day.?
Do not apply make up if your face is sweating. Always clean your face before applying make-up.
Make sure you wash off all traces of makeup before turning in for the night. Never, ever go to bed with make-up still on, as it contributes to blocking pores, and will lead to pimples and blackheads.
Avoid using oil-based make-up if you have oily skin and are prone to developing blackheads.

try teatree nose pore strips. it removes blackheads easily than facial scrubs. wet the strips, apply on desired areas, wait few minutes to dry then peel off gently. a bit painful if you're quite hairy, but it's worth it. you'll see the nasty blackheads on the strip, you want to crush them over and over again.

Wash with warm water, swab with alcohol and squeeze *gently* between two fingers using tissue, until yellow matter and dirt plugs are squeezed out. Follow with astringent pads such as Noxzema.
