Poodles, bichon frises, schnauzers, Maltese, Lhasa Apso, Shih tzu, and many poodle mixes are all low dander producing dogs.
Here is a fairly complete list> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypoallergenic_dog_breeds
with other good information.. If you click on any breed name, you will get pics and info about that breed..

There are no hypoallergenic dogs. Period. No reputable breeder would ever guarantee you a hypoallergenic dog. And if a breeder or a pet store told you the dog is hypoallergenic, you need to leave right away.
Yes, some people have less allergies to certain types of dogs, but it isn ot a guaranteed thing. And, for everyone who talked about dog hair, they can't be trusted. If they don't even know that it's not hair, but dander, that causes allergies, their 'facts' and 'opinions' can't be trusted.
There is also no such things as a Tea Cup dog. This is a 'brand' made up by unethical and irresponsible breeders to sell puppies. Run away if anyone advertises or promises you a tea cup anything.
Remember, don't EVER buy from a pet store, a backyard breeder, an internet ad or solicitation, or a newspaper ad. First, consider rescue. 25% of shelter dogs are purebred and there are thousands of homeless purebred with breed rescue groups. Secondly, read up on what makes a reputable breeder so that you don't support one who increases the euthanasia rate by breeding irresponsibly.

I'm hesitant to recommend a certain breed because looks are not the only qualifying characteristic of the right dog for you. You also need a dog that will fit your lifestyle. What you should do is go on google and find a dog breed website, or go find a dog encyclopedia at the bookstore or library. Browse though all the breeds and pick ones you think are small and cute as adults (all puppies are small and cute). After you have narrowed down your search, read and research about the breeds you have chosen. Then you can make the right decision for you.

Even hairless dogs can cause allergies since it's their dander, not their hair, that most people are allergic to.
I've heard that poodles and shih tzus don't bother people too badly. I can't remember the other ones, I hope someone else has more.
Oh, I found a really good site for ya. There's a lot of helpful info there, including a list of recommended breeds for allergy sufferers.

Good luck!

Shih Tzus are about as close to hypo-allergenic as dogs come. They have minimal shedding, if any at all and they don't have dander. They are small, they live a long time, and they require a lot of attention, but they are excellent companions. Good luck!:)

Toy poodles or teacup poodles are less likely to affect peoples allergy's. Also they stay very small in size, usualy under 12 pounds. But they do have a tendency to jump up and pee on people out of excitement.

I don't care what you have heard, there is no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog. Or any other animal for that matter.

poodles. Poodles don't shed, and they don't seem to affect allergies. One of our two dogs is a toy poodle. She is strictly a house dog. My middle son as asthma, my husband has pet hair allergies, and neither of them have any problem with her. :-)
