I had my son 16 months ago and I am breastfeeding. I know that it is normal to loose your sex drive after having a baby and while breastfeeding. For a while I was completely not interested. Lately I think about and dream about sex all the time. However, when my husband lets me know that he is interested in having sex I still can not get into it at all physically or mentally.
Is that normal?
What do you think that is about?

Its normal, your body gets physiological messages from your mind. If it caused pain once, then avoid it(what that message is). You already realize the message is wrong, take it easy on yourself. You'll get back when you're ready. The ladies on this site will be more help.

It's a "mommy" complex. Seriously.

I had that problem a little. It's all about this psyche that you're a mom, and mom's aren't suppose to be sexy or have full-blown, crazy porno sex. You may not think that's it, but it is. You're with a baby all day, and it's hard to get from mommy mode (pacifiers, diapers, feedings, goo-goo talk) to wife mode. It's hard.

I would have someone watch the baby, then go out with your man. Have a couple drinks, loosen up. It'll come back. Don't stress about it too much.

Good luck...

Sounds like a hormonal thing with breastfeeding and caring for
a baby but you should be glad that your husband still wants to
have sex with you because some men get turned off after the baby and either don't want to do it or avoid certain things.

Yes true that's normal ~ specially for breast feeding moms. In most of the cases, during such periods pregnency dont take place. Ask your husband be patient and to wait for some time! Its a building of family~ its not a game or liesure ~ its a process of continous efforts and hard work

your brain and your body are out of sinc. I think that it is probably related to hormons from breast feeding. But call your Gyn and see if they have any thoughts.
