1)Exercise 30 Minutes
Do at least 30 minutes of exercise, like brisk walking, most days of the week.
The idea is to use up more calories than you eat. You need to use up the day's calories and some of the calories stored in your body fat.
2)Eat Less Fat and Sugar
This will help you cut calories. Fried foods and fatty desserts can quickly use up a day's calories. And these foods may not provide the other nutrients you need.
3)Tips for Cutting Calories and Fat
Eat plenty of vegetables, fruits, and grain products like bread and rice.
Eat only small, single servings of foods high in fat or calories.
Eat less sugar and fewer sweets.
Drink less alcohol or no alcohol.
Choose foods whose labels say low, light or reduced to describe calories or fat.
Choose 1 percent or skim milk products and reduced fat cheeses.
Replace ice cream with fat-free frozen yogurt.
Replace sour cream with fat-free or low-fat plain yogurt.
Make sure fish, poultry and meat are lean. Trim skin and fat.
Broil, roast or steam foods.

To begin, try not to eat more than 2000 calories a day. This is especially true for people who aren't very active. Next, eat healthy. Read the nutritition labels. Avoid saturated and trans fats. You should also look at the ingrediants, and if you see hydrogenated fats, sugar or high fructos among the first 5 listed, avoid them too . As for the good foods to eat. Fruits and especially vegetables. Natural foods. Look at the Food Pyramid, that will give a good idea. Next, excersize. It's reccomended to be moderatly active at least 30 minutes everyday. Walking is easy. Finally, do some strength training. The more muscles you have, the more calories you will burn, even when you're not excersizing.

I walk (about 5 mph) 5 miles a day, 2 to 5 times per week. On top of doing Minna Lessig's Emergency 6 week workout (on the days I don' t walk) and 8 min abs and 8 min buns everyday. Minna's tape has cardio and toning with weights. 8 min buns/abs is the most effective, awesome and quickest way to whittle down that area. Also cut WAY back on alcohol and other empty calories. (I try to stay within 1000-1200 per day) and way back on fats. (like subbing balsamic vinegar on salads for ranch dressing, not using mayo just mustard, skinny cow desserts instaed of the full fat and calorie ones, etc.) There are many areas where you can really decrease the intake of fats and calories. Before you know it, your weight is dropping off like melted butter....(butter...another no no). I am a vegetarian which also helps. I eat morning star farms meat substitutions like the hot dogs, sausage, bacon, garden veggie patties, which have little fat. As for sandwiches I use yves soy lunchmeat that has very little or no fat and you get alot of protein, which is VERY important in building muscle, which is very important in boosting your metabolism. The more muscle you put on the more your body burns calories, even when you're sleeping! I also eat protien bars by power bar for breakfast with my diet rockstar and a banana. I have lost 40 lbs in 4 months and still losing. Good luck.

Exercise, eat healthy, watch to make sure you don't eat too much. Exercise 3-4 times a week. Eat Vegetables and be sure to get protein. To maintain your weight, you should have 15 grams of fat, so go for 14 or under. Do that, and you should loose weight. Oh, 2 pounds a week is the maximum amount of weight you should loose a week to stay healthy...

Veggies, veggies, veggies! High fiber is a must. Lean meats. You can eat almost all the chicken and fish you want. Stay away from sugars, starchs, and fat! I am 6' and weigh 225. Before I started weight watchers I weighed 280 only five months ago! It really works. If you can't affrod it, just join when they have their "Free" enrollment get your instructions and you don't have to go back. It's just for support anyway. Good luck!

You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.
