You are right. There is however, a tiny-whiny problem. The Christians want the Muslims to "unite" with them and become Christians. And, amazingly, the Muslims think the Christians should "unite" with them and become Muslim.
If we can work out that one little detail we might be on to something.
:)

A very noble suggestion and idea to contemplate.
For those that view Islam with beheadings and Daniel Pearl etc, you should realise that others can easily turn around and associate Christianity with Paedophile Priests and Bishops/Clergy that sexually abuse children and not much more. However, as we know this is a minority and as we realise that those radical Evangelicals that promote their religion by force, deception and bloodshed, are not in fact a true representation of Christianity then you should similarily offer the same respect to Islam and Muslims. Just because the media shows the "muslims" that are doing wrong rather than the Christians, does not justify judgements. YOU DO NOT judge a religion by its "followers" but by its Principles.
On the basis of Principles and common ground, OF COURSE Christians and Muslims can come together and forge some sort of unified community that can work in harmony and extend its teaching in civilised and dignified ways to those that are interested. But for that to happen there must be mutualism and tolerance. This cannot be achieved by demonising one another and insulting each other in the name of Freedom of Speech. That only stirs animosity and fuels anger. Do you see the Pope and his clergy or the great Islamic Scholars throwing grenades at each other? They are both peaceful people that promote their own cause through sensible and intelligent means. The branches that break away from these powerful trees of wisdom are the ones that get swept away into darkness and thereby defame the religion they were once loyal to.
I am confident if the media begins broadcasting paedophile priests and violent christians 24/7, then public opinion of Christianity will sway and stereotype the religion just like what is happening with Islam and the constant publicity of the wrongdoers. Thus it is our duty to promote tolerance and RESPECT if we want to remain respected.
Peace to all who seek it.

Cosmo, you've always been a moron. Islam is not about cutting peoples heads off just as Christianity isn't about running through the middle east with painted shields and stealing lands.

Wow this question is so full of error, where to begin? My. oh my. If we arent believing the same, there will be no unity. and each side believes they are right and want the freedom to believe as they please, and will fight to the death for it, even if they are peaceful. many want to silence those who dont believe as they do, this is the devil and its all predicted in the Bible. When we sit down and do nothing, we will ALL lose our rights and freedoms. We are to stand up for Gods truths, and never allow anyone to tell us we have to worship another God. God gives choose, and so should govt. Its not their place to tell any of us how to believe or to believe at all. They have enoug to do in running the country. Religion has no place in govt, and as long as it does, you have major chaos and upheaveal and war. YOu are right, as one person, we cant change much. But, if we stand together and unite, those that are on the same page, can make a difference. I not only battle for my rights to worship as a full gospel Pentacostal, I fight for the rights of a catolic, jew or anyone else, and even for the athiest who has no beliefs at all. We all should fight for that. but, when we only consider what we want, it all breaks loose. But the Bible predicts all this. If we read up on it, it leads into the last apostasy just before Jesus comes. Would an athiest want to be forced to worship? Of course not. Would I want to be told I had to be catholic? NO< and I wouldnt be. So, as you fight against Christianity, you dont reliaze, you are giving up your rights too. Govt needs to get out of religion, and let us deceide on our own. Like taking Christianity out of schools. ok. But, then there are false religions taught, and all kinds of stuff. They will even teach our kids to know they dont have to obey their parents, cuz they are free. free of what? If our kids are in trouble, the govt doesnt want them, doesnt care enough to fix them. so, since we are held responsible for them, till they are 18, we have the rights to teach what we believe.
Great question, thanks for answer this. see the big picture and you will share my concerns and that of many all over the world.

Peace starts from within each individual.
As you emanate peace you attract others like you.
Which then creates a power of energy and peace of a group.

THE MAJORITY ARE YES.
UNFORTUNATELY-THE MINORITY THAT SWAY TO VIOLENCE IN ISALAM GIVE THE REST OF THOSE MUSLIM RELIGION BAD REFLECTIONS.
DIFFICULT TO WORK WITH FANATICS.
1400 HUNDRED YEARS OF KILLINGS ISN'T LIKELY TO STOP BECAUSE SOME DO GOODY SAYS LETS SIT DOWN AT THE TABLE OF BROTHERHOOD.
RELIGION THAT HAS VOWED TO KILL ANY OPPOSITION TEND TO HATE NOT UNIFY WITH THEIR ENEMY.
