If you are going to freeze them to be used later in a recipe, peel them put them in a zip lock bag and just squeeze the bag until they are mashed up. Save yourself the step of mashing in a food processor or whatever and making an extra dish to wash.

YES bananas can be frozen but not for future use, because i have accidentally done that so many times by freezing the banana in the freezer, by the time i took it out to eat or to thaw, it becomes brown or smooshy, you would not like that! try it if you like, you will notice :)

Peel them first, cut or tear them in half, and put in a freezer bag.
If you're going to use them for smoothies, you can cut them into chunks before you freeze them. But this creates more surface area so you might get more of a freezer burn problem. So I usually just freeze them in halves and chop them frozen before making the smoothie (they aren't too hard to cut into big chunks when they're frozen).

I peel and slice mine and put them into Tupperware containers and stick them in the freezer. They last several months. Even if they get brown, they still are good for baking.

don't peel them, saves the insides from getting brown....the outside will get brown but that's normal.
you can keep them in the freezer for a few months!
then you can peel them and put them in smoothies or whatever you want!
