Usually people who refer to God as being a she are not followers of the bible.

To Jesus he was Father and Mary was Mother. The first three chapters of Proverbs refer to the atributes of Godly Knowledge and Wisdom as female.
God is neither male nor female in our sense of the terms. There are atributes of both sexes in God.
I prefer the approach of thinking the word God as the appropiate pronoun since the Bible is clear that God does have a proper name but it is unspoken.

It is a human definition of the ineffable...because we cannot truly understand God...we have to try to relate to God through Human definitions...
Classically we call God the Father because of the position He plays... He is the leader and the reprimander...He is the one who creates law and passes judgment...for the Semitic society in which the Bible was coined...these traits fit the male trends within the society...There are other arguments for the nomenclature of the Father...like the one who makes things, the leader of the Tribe, the maker and the enforcer of law and the one who battles those in conflict with law...
Therefore, because God is beyond human definition or engendering...we have to create an anthropocentric definition just to be able to relate with the 'knowing' of God....
My definition of God: the ineffable creative power of the universe.
peace out

The Bible only started to refer to God as "He" ONLY after about 500 BCE when the patriarchy editted the Torah to make god a "He," in which it could be established that men were superior to women.

I think it is to make the point that if there is a God, they are a higher being and beyond a certain sex. So techically God wouldn't be a He or She. Those who refer to God as She are most likely just making a point that although most except God as not being male or female, most still refer to God as "he."

God is "Spirit", without physical form. So in reality, God is niether male or female.
However, God is always refered to in the masculine in both the Hebrew (OT) and Greek (NT). He came to earth as a man, Jesus. And for those who believe in Him, He is our Father.
So those that refer to God as "she" are not using the Biblical references for God--how God has made Himself know to us. It's a cultural trend, not a Biblical one.

Some people refuse to grasp the truth. They rather be their own God it gives them a reason to continue to behave anyway they want without guilt.
To admit there is a God and to respect the fact that he is our Father (Man) is to face the truth and guilt of their actions. The time will come when we will have to face the truth I just hope we realize it before hand.

The same reason white people portray Jesus as white when in the bible it says he had skin of bronze, and hair like sheep's wool.

Because not all people who believe in GOD believe in the bible. For example, if you took the bible literally we would sacrifice our first born sons.

Many people believe God is EVERYTHING.....he, she, him, her, it....everything.
Well, that can get very confusing considering we have to address him/her in some way. I guess it depends on your preference.
I do agree with you, though. I think we should follow the bible.
Hope I helped! Have a great Day! ;-)
