Place the fresh eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Place on the stove and bring to a full-rolling boil. Cover and turn off the heat. Leave them covered for 10 minutes. Do not lift the cover to peek. Then immediately drain the hot water and replace with cold water. Shell the eggs under cold running water from the tap. Enjoy!

By BLACK - I'm assuming the brownish green color that can be right under the shell when you peel......... USE FRESH EGGS. Eggs that have been sitting in your fridge for a week and not good for boiling if you want to avoid that coloring and peeling problems. Put eggs in COLD water - bring to a rolling boil. Turn OFF heat and let sit 18 min. Most cook books say 22 to 23 minutes - but I think it's too long and you get rubbery eggs. Remeber you can cook an egg in water in 3-4 minutes....so you won't have any uncooked problems at 18 min. Peel under cool running water. ENJOY!

I put the eggs in the pot and then cover them with cold water. Turn the heat up to high and let in come to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes. Turn off heat and cover the pot. Let eggs sit for 10 minutes. Drain off water and shake eggs in the pot to crack the shells. Run them under COLD water a few times to cool them down and stop the cooking. Let them sit for a few minutes and then peel. I always have perfect hard boiled eggs...good luck!!

ok.... ready for the best way???? lol First of all you NEVER use an aluminum pot to boil eggs. I use glass, stainless steel or ceramic coated. The aluminum could be the reason they turn black. Now..... put the eggs in before the water then using COLD water fill the pot of eggs to an inch or 2 after the eggs are covered. Turn your burner on high and cook them for 21 to 25 mins. don't start timing after they boil! Start timing as soon as you put them on the high flame!! After the 21-25 mins. Drain the boiling water and just let the cold tap water run on them till the eggs aren't hot to the touch then let them sit in the cool water till you're ready to peel them. Here's a tip....when they are soaking in the cold water, crack the shell all over so water can get inside it and let them sit a min. or 2. This makes them very easy to peel. Sounds complicated, but it's very easy. This is how I do my Easter eggs except I don't crack them duh! lol
Good Luck! and I hope I wasn't too late to help you out. Just remember NO ALUM. pots! They can be toxic!
Take Care!
