Moral education,Physical education, crafts, arts, agriculture etc are forgotten. So again these systems should be introduced. In the moral education we can give importance for the body anatomy, disecease, sex, preganancy etc above 7/8 years upto end of PG studies

I believe that everyone should be educated about sex. There are so many people out there who are totally uneducated about STD's and unexpected pregnancies. I believe that this education should start at home, and continue in the school system.

balamurali, hi!

personally, i think sex-education should be mandatory.

a recent survey showed that more than 88% of boys in a particular college had watched adult-films (xxx pornography), but of them, only 6% knew that they were actors paid to "act" that way, and only 11% knew that they should always use a condom.

in today's age, young people learn a lot of things quickly... they don't need to get it from the teachers or family. and sex is no longer a "bad thing"...

our parents thought sex was bad... but we know that it's a natural process for humans.

sex -education will teach youngsters to make out the difference between actual sex, and perversions. it will also teach them how to avoid unwanted pregnancies. but most important of all, it will teach them how to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.

also, remember that knowledge is power... and education is good. in today's age, ignorance is no longer bliss!

hope this helped... do write me if you need more clarification...

enjoy!

yes i remember going to a sleep over when i was 12. we were discussing sex. A mother had told her daughter she'd get pregnant like on the Cleopatra movie when laying on the sitee and fed grapes by a man. we laughed hysterically.. but the poor girl would have avoided grapes and gotten knocked up thinking it was safe to have sex!.
some parents are idiots.
let the schools at least provide basic facts and science.
let the churches counsel individuals on the good and bad of when its used.

we have to have oursleves educated on all aspects of life. however at what age and at what level are the students mature to understand about sex depends from society to society and culture practices in different countries, areas, states.
the person imparting sex edcuation also has to be matured enough to deliver what is required and not to overdo the same. The parents, friends and electronic media, print media can be helpful in all this.

Since most parents find it difficult to explain pregnancy and STD's to their kids , it is critical that they get the real facts about babies and diseases associated with sex.
And because the friends their own age have really weird ideas that are totally bogus.
You cannot figure out babies and STD's on your own, too complex.
