Here is how to buy one:

But they cost almost $7000 UDS for UK residents! Each!
Almost $2000 of that is shipping and processing fees that are additional for exporting the cat.

Ok first off let's get rid of the myth that it is the hair in the cat that people are allergic too. It is an allergin that is secreted thru the skin and saliva of the cat so I don't think that a hairless cat is gonna do you much better. Less hair to clean up that is for sure. The first allergy free cat is going on the market today now that doesn't mean they will be available to the public. They are planning on making them available to buy in the year 2007 sometime. Now there is a lot of controversy surrounding this whole idea so we will have to wait and see what they come up with.

There is one already available with curly fur (think it's called a Devon Rex, but not sure) that is not supposed to give you an allergic reaction. My neighbour has got one as her husband has a cat allergy, ugly thing mind you.....
I have a cat allergy too, but have two (normal, fluffy) cats and just suffer !!

except you have a severe hypersensitive reaction, your physique will in all probability study to tolerate a cat. Get a kitten and persevere with it. except it relatively makes you ill you will build an immunity to it. Or, it would be nicely worth getting a rescue cat and asking the assistants in the event that they have one they think of could be much less allergic - as some cats are worse than others. you additionally can purchase Petal-Cleans form pharmacists. back, if no longer a severe hypersensitive reaction it may help decrease puppy allergens. difficulty is, you need to wipe it over that cat as quickly as a week.

you cannot get them in the UK. You are thinking asbout a munchkin cat which is an abomination invented in guess where......good old merkinland. The governing council for cat fancy in this country have condemned them. Breeding such a cat is simply wicked.
Here in the UK you could always get a Devon rex or Cornish rex cat with a curly coat which may be better for people allergic to cats. Arrange to have a patch test at your doctors first to see whether youare actually allergic to cats. You might not be.

Sphinx cats have no fur at all (Mr Bigglesworth from Austin Powers). Cornish and Devon Rex cats have very little fur. These cats are all pedigree breeds so they will more then likely be reasonably expensive. If you are allergic to pets then these breeds will only help if you are allergic to their fur.

Keep in mind that what people are allergic to from cats is NOT their fur, it is a chemical in their spit... so getting a hairless cat is not an option. You'd probably just be better off getting an animal you aren't allergic to.

It's true, they are completely hairless and rather ugly. I prefer my big, fuzzy, snuggly kitty that makes me sneeze and my eyes water. And those lovely remembrances of her stuck to all of my black clothing....
Where they can be found and how much, I do not know, but I have seen them.
