I think it would be wrong, I wouldn't use it. There are a billion other names, why would anyone want to use Lucifer?

The Lucifer name is not mentioned in the Bible, the name Satan is. However, since the world have now associated that name to Satan, imagine how the world would react to him and how this can change your sons behavior. Why don't you hang out with a young nephew and take him to a park and introduce him as if he's name is Lucifer. You can probably get a good sampling of what your son will go thru.

till you have been residing below a rock to your finished existence, i'm effective you're entirely conscious of the connotations and institutions Lucifer has. It incredibly would not remember what the call capacity or no remember if or no longer you join that theory device, what concerns is this call is considered in an quite unfavorable mild by capacity of society and that's a attractiveness which will do no longer something yet get your new child ridiculed and ought to actual negatively impression his probabilities of destiny employment. Your new child's call isn't the placement to combat battles of thought. this could be in basic terms like naming your new child Adolf. No, there is not any longer something inherently incorrect with the call however the call's background and institutions might reason no longer something yet hardship and a life-time of being ridiculed and stigmatized for it incredibly is bearer. i in my view disagree which incorporate your inlaws threats and think of they are completely selfish and immature. Giving your new child a attractiveness like Lucifer is imo, style of a selfish element to do yet that truly would not warrant such threats from kin.

Because 99% of society doesn't know that it means "bringer of light" and instead they associate it with Satan, your son would be associated in societies eyes with something negative instead of postive.

Many people may be offended. If you are religious, imagine the preacher saying the birthdays in church service, "Happy Birthday to John, Mary, Summer, Lucifer...? and Chris!"
People may be shocked.

I guess its all up to the parents, as for me I certainly wouldn't use it. Think of the child growing up with that name, might be a big teaser name.

These days anything goes. If you like it and you think it suits your child then go for it. People name their children after totally absurd things these days. Feel free to choose any name you want. Just don't name him Satan, that would be going too far.

That would all depend on your religious preferences. I personally would not use the name, but everyone has their own opinion.
