Okay, my ex and I were together in Grade 12 (he was 1st year college). We dated for 6 months. I graduated, and within the first month of moving and going to college he broke up with me; never spoke to me for a year. We lived about 1 1/2 hours apart. Now I had got a new boyfriend shortly after, we now live together, I'm finished college, and the ex is too. But I couldn't get my ex off my mind, daily, even a year later. Last week he finally contacted me saying he really missed me and would come to every door where I live now to find me and that he was really sorry. My current boyfriend I love...but I don't know if it would last. My ex and I still live 1 1/2 hours apart...and I just don't know what to do. I have a life with the new boyfriend whom really loves me, but I really love my ex who dumped me. I'm so confused :( Think with my heart or think with my head?

It's been how many years since you have seen/heard from this guy? And now your willing to throw away everything you have built up just because he suddenly "feels bad" and calls you? Stop and think about this for a minute. What is in this for him? What is he risking? Or are you just a phone number he happened to run across on a long lonely night? You need to stop wondering what if and start looking at what you have. If you truly love the one your with...be with him and quit wasting your time and energy beating yourself over the head. He was gone...let him stay gone.

The past should be left in the past. And you seem to be remembering all the best times you had with the ex and forgetting about how he broke your heart... do you really want to relive that again??

Your head is being more logical than your heart, and in this case it sounds like that's the best thing for you.

That's a tough one! I think you should at least meet with the ex to find out what's going on. If you see a chance for a lasting relationship there, you owe it to yourself. I only suggest this because of your apparent doubt in your current friendship and your mention of the lingering love of your past.

Hmmm heart or head....

If you were a guy it would be head or head. But figuratively you are doing the same thing. You can't live in the past...he had his chance he blew it....why would you go back and probably have the same thing happen again... i think he really wants to re-live his youth by scoring with the same girl again. maybe he has a wife...ever consider that?

You might want to think about yourself and be fair with your current boyfriend. Go with the one you really love and save the burden on your current boyfriend since your not sure if it will last any way
