yes... they can inspect all luggage - even those that are locked. If you lock your luggage, you need to use Approved locks!! or they will cut them off. you may be asked to declare verbally that you packed any weapons (a pocket knife is considered a weapon)... don't lie about it.. just declare it.

Yes. For domestic flights, It won't be any problem. If you are planning on leaving the United States, you could have serious problems when you arrive. Check to make sure that knives are allowed to be imported to your destination.
