do anything about it now? It haunts me all the time and my sister asks me about it occasionally. She (our babysitter) was 18 at the time but I was tall for my age, about the same height as she was at the time. I didn't think anything of it but I am worried now about any psychological effects it may have had. We grew up on a big farm with lots of farm animals (sheep, goats, horses etc.) running around and they may have seen some things also as we would "PLAY" hide and seek a lot and the animals grew restless watching us. Please help.

I've been in the same shoes... I was a bit younger... about 6-7 at the time... for much of my life I supressed the memory... Best thing to do about this is to talk to someone... if it's just starting to bother you... then it'll only get worse... you have to get it off your chest... remember that it wasn't your fault... you're parents didn't leave you in her care knowing that this was happening either (some kids feel that way also)...
The biggest thing to do at this point is find someone (preacher, councelour, etc.) that you can trust... that has some experience in this area... get it off your chest... allow them to help you come to terms with this... though it will be with you for the rest of your life... the hurdle that you are jumping when you have to deal with it will be MUCH MUCH lower...

How long ago was this?
If recent and you have enough proof so that it is not just heresay, turn her in. No babysitter has to right to touch you inappropriately, EVER. She may be doing it to other kids too. Some persons (like her) that have low self-esteem like to take advantage of the children they take care of. It gives them a chance to pass the pain around.
I really dont know why you brought up the animals they do not have brains that record memories of an event. No animal can serve as your witness.
If you report her make sure this is ACURATE and not some fantasy or made up story. If it is made up you could ruin a persons life with these allegations. I know, someone in my family had this said about them and it was not true. They said he touched them when he was watching them (they were 12) and it was all made up. He could not prove his innocents and spent 12 years in prison. It ruined his life. All so that the kid could feel power. If this is a joke DROP IT.

If not, get help. Talk to someone. And remember abuse can reported to a teacher.

I've been through a similar thing I was about 8 and it was my great uncle but child sexual assault (CSA) has lasting effects even though you are older now you can still seek help most victims of CSA don't seek help until much later in life, it doesn't matter how tall you were there is no excuse for what she did seek help from a sexual assault councilor you can talk to your GP and they can put you in touch with the right people I strongly suggest you take legal action it will help with the healing process, it will make you feel empowered but a councilor will be able to explain that better. unfortunately it can have some serious long term effects on your life that you often don't realize are linked to the assault. the first step is hard so good luck.

I really gotta tell you this sounds like Fantasy Island. It sounds like you have watched way too much TV since then, and now want to play the victim role.

But I could be wrong.

First, how old are you now? And exactly what does "take advantage of me" mean???

I don't know about the legalities about this. It's been a long time. You could talk to her family and trash her like Rosanne did her father. At least make it known, maybe it will help someone else who was molested recently, they can send her to prison!

Did you do anything about it before? That's not something you just walk off. Say something about it. That's not an ordinary thing at all. Definitely tell someone you can trust about it. That's not a safe thing, especially if she is still babysitting.

how old are you now? It might be too late to report her. I would go and see a psycologist, they can help you deal with the pain. If you are still under age, I would tell your parents and they can get you the doctors help that you need.

If its been 5 years you cant report it, babe. That's the law... If it hasn't report it if you want. Just like go to a therapist and all. You sound pretty much older so it's probably too late.
