god sleeps in the rocks,
dreams in the trees,
stirs in the animals,
and wakes in man.
I heard this the other day and I was interested in hearing what others thought about it - what does it mean to you?

It means that once again we are showing our arrogance by thinking we are something special, and above nature. It is what will kill us all eventually, leaving the rocks, trees and animals a chance to move on.

I think that's very interesting, how it's put... I haven't heard this before!
What it means to me...is simple! GOD is everywhere; in me, you and all the creation!
God Bless!!!

"god sleeps in the rocks,"
could be a crack-cocaine reference
"dreams in the trees,"
smokes weed too?
"stirs in the animals"
eww .. that's just wrong!
"and wakes in man."
we already knew he was gay.

It means that they are using a 'god of the gaps' argument, whereby god is used to explain the gaps in human knowledge and the gaps in human knowledge are used to explain god. It's a false argument.

Ya know... this is why I come to this forum. I like the "gaps" idea, and I hadn't heard that one before. It reflects some sound thinking.
