my dog recently got neutered. now i know that the process is that they remove the testicle(s) and somtimes a disrution of the flow path of the semen/sperm to the penis. now the vet only removed one of his testicles. my other dog (adopted, pre neutered) both his testicles are removed. so im wondering if the vet knew what he was doing or will some poor female dog end up with puppies down the road?

I'm sure your vet knew what he was doing.

I would either take him back to the same vet and show the vet that it "seems" like only one testicle was taken out. There might be some swelling and a hematoma may have occurred which can resemble a testicle. Please ask and get ur dog checked out because it may need antibiotics or the vet may have only removed one but either way please get ur puppy checked out. Good Luck and I hope it all works out :)

Gees vets are stupid! Are you absolutely CERTAIN that one testicle is still there though? It takes a little while for the scrotum to shrink down and it could appear to be there and really not be. If you can feel it there (be careful as he will be sore still from the surgery) then you know the vet screwed up. If that's the case, go to another vet, have them fix the problem and give you a written statement of what they did. Then take the vet that messed it up to court.

It wasn't done 'right'.... that would be like a woman, only having one ovary taken out.............she could still get pregnant ! So... your dog is more or less, UN-neutered ! Take him to a different Vet, and have him checked out, 'then', see what the 'new' Vet says, and if they can 'finish' the process.

It sound like the vet did not do his job. I would go back to the vet and ask him to take a look at it.
