I like this boy and I'm pretty sure he likes me too but what if he doesn't want a girlfriend? Should I still tell him I like him or try to forget about him?

DON'T ask him if he wants a girlfriend first off. Let it be known you into him but dont push for girlfriend stat tell him you want to spend time and get to know him on a different level

If he likes you then I'm pretty sure he wants you to be his girlfriend but for now ask him to go walk with you to a park then when your alone you can tell him you like him. And if he tells you he likes you too you can be bf and gfs but if he doesn't do it my way. tell him you like him and forget him incase he doesn't like you! Goodluck!

Talk to him, see how he responds to just everyday chatting. Try this for a few days, then if he seems interestedin talking to you, ask him out for coffee (or whatever) then tell hm you are interested in him.
But if he turns you down, don't act sad or needy, simply say, "that's cool, I understand", then change the subject and talk about something else until you can leave and go home.
