I need you to check the steak and ice cream milkshakes you are feeding the cat for lunch...maybe some cat food has fallen into the food your feeding the cat....
if the food your feeding the cat smells like CAT FOOD..then maybe you have found the culprit to the mystery....

I tried to get my cat to gargle with mouth wash..that cost me a few hundred dollars at the VETS office..they told me .you can not do that to a cat..it could kill her..NOW I KNOW...so do not try that...
they do have tooth paste and brushes so the owner of cats can brush their teeth after the cats eat...you can find these at local at supply stores or on the web or pet supply catalogs...

Try brushing his teeth to get rid of the smell. Get a special toothpaste for cats and a toddler toothbrush. My cat absolutely loves having his teeth brushed and it helps with cat food breath a lot.

Have you had his teeth cleaned? If not, have them done. If it doesn't help he may have periodontal decease which requires scraping the teeth.
My daughter had this same problem and had the periodontal done and the cat is fine now.
Another tip you can try is changing the cat's food to another brand.

probably cuz it was just eating cat food and the last time i checked cats dont brush their teeth
