I live in Northwest Oklahoma. I have a 2 1/2 year old son, who has a lot of toys....Well, more toys than his room will hold, and with a new baby on the way, I want to clear out some of them, They are toys for 6 months-- 2 years...Any ideas on where to donate them....We really don't have any place in town other than the goodwill, and I don't want to take them there.....I want to give them to someone who really needs them and can't afford them....Especially with Christmas on the way....Thank you!!

call your social services, churches and check with the fire stations ,they may know of someone who got burnt out with children, you will be surprised at the toy that will brighten up a child's holiday and take some of the worry from a parent (God Bless YOU and happy holidays

Check into yahoo groups for a Freecycle group in your area. You can put a post (online) that you have toys and you can pick someone to come and pick them up from your home. That is how I have gotten rid of a lot of unwanted junk in my home. Plus as an added bonus, if you need something you can ask too (and sometimes get what you need). Usually I will put a post on Freecycle and give it about a day for people to respond, and then pick who I think it best suited to take my unwanted items. Plus you can meet other people in your area - I find it to be very helpful!!!

If you don't want to go to Goodwill maybe you could have a yard sale. I know alot of churchs will take unwanted toys for the less fortunate children.

If you don't want to give them to Goodwill... try a church... or something like that... if not... have you ever used www.freecycle.org ... this is a web community based solely around giving things to people who need them... instead of throwing them away... I would go there... and post an "offer"...
;)

Try www.freecycle.org.
It's usually run through yahoo group and offers certain areas oppurtunities to offer items up for free. Many needy families use this site as a way to get items for their children. Especially around the holidays. You may have to look through the site to find one near you.

Find out if there is a 'toys for Tots' organization near you. They would love to have them.
