About 1 year ago my dog's intestines got twisted and were surgically fixed. Since then, she gets sick about once or twice a week. The vet has tried many meds (tagamet, centrine, peptobismol). The days that she is sick her stomach makes skwirty noises, she can't eat, and has bloody stools. The vets cannot figure out exactly what it is - they have never seen this before. Has anyone ever experienced this or anything similar? I hate to see my dog sick, I really want to help her.

Hi Belle,
I am not a doctor or veternarian but an animal lover. Take you dog back and get a second opinion I am sure you want to help you friend. I never heard of this either. Apparently the veterinarian don't believe in running tests.

Has your vet made the recommendation yet to put your poor puppy down? I am a huge animal lover but hun this dog sounds like it is really suffering. What kind of a life is that? Where do you live? Depending on how important this is to you, try giving Tufts animal hospital a call in Mass. or angel memorial hospital also in Mass. They are HUGE animal medical centers and they're the best. If anyone can figure out whats wrong with your pup they can. Good luck. I hope everything works out for you and your poop puppy.

If the vet has ruled out 1. ulcer, 2. turned around stomach, 3. volvulus and 4. duodenum wounds it may be one of those things that can be seen without opening her again

Im so sorry that your dog is sick, because mine was to this summer, and unfortunatley she past away, and i know how it feels to see your dog suffering. The only advice i can say to you is to research as much as you can about this subject, and spend as much time with her as you can, night and day if possible, because once there gone, its forever :(
I hope your dog gets better :)

Ask the vet if there is a specialist for her. Our dog has allergies and there are dermatologists and allergists available for pets.
