I believe in God simply because I believe. If I never were offered a chance to go to Heaven I would still follow the bible because it is just a great guide on how to be a great person and to get along with others. I do not think it is the wicked that are attracted to Christianity . More so that Evil incarnate is attracted to good Christians and that is why you see so many fall. The closer you are to God the better a target you provide for Satan and the greater prize you become if he can make you stray from the goodness that is Christianity. And that is also why so much is made of the wrongs that Christians do. Satan has great PR and it makes a lot of people happy to see the righteous fall. Then they do not have to focus on their own misdeeds. They can point fingers at others and draw parallels to their own sins. Thus saying if so and so is a Christian and gets away with such and such then i should be fine. What they do not realize is that while it may look like it, no one escapes the Judgement of God eventually. And all of us have sinned and will have to account for our own faults. I do not think I would want to add the sin of making fun of someone else's fall another notch on my already large quota of sins. I have earned enough on my own.

no one really knows for sure what is going to happen after death right?! Right!
so, that's make it 50/50 chance that they will have a deal according to their belief!
so, may be they eat dirt now and stuff, but if the deal is on, you lose my man...they aint loosing nothing by believing...believing is good even and especially when the believer is eating and living dirt as you are saying..
i am pretty sure that all the believers answerers will have thumbs down..
anyway, see you in the afterlife!

No they believe in him because they like think there is a higher power out there then themselves, that is immortal, and with God's immortality comes that gift of life after death.
And for the first guy that answered, there is dirt in heaven. God kills more than Satan in the Bible. God enjoy es the smell of dead animals burning in fire. God destroys the whole earth with the flood, I rather be in hell with Satan, at least Satan never command that I rape a women, or hang heads out on a tree to the east so when the sun rises so he could see their pain. Morons.
What more how can you feel pain with out a brain, so I am not worried about going to hell or heaven or hell, sick a cults!

Believers believe in God because they needed someone to save them from their sins. The wages of sin is death. But the gift of God is eternal life, through faith.
Every one has sinned against God somewhere or somehow. God knew we needed a redeemer to save us from our sins. Sins separate us from God. To be restored in relationship with God is to have our sins washed away by the Blood of the Lamb without blemish.
Once a person is born of God, person cannot abide in sin (make it a comfortable habit) because of the Holy Seed within. Because person has been spiritual reborn. Where person was blind, person can see. Where person was in darkness, person is now in the light.
God is a Holy God and even one sin will keep you out of heaven. There needs to be an atonement for sin. Jesus was without sin so is the only one who died without sin and death couldn't keep Him in the grave.
Jesus said that when He is lifted up God will draw all peoples unto Him. Signifying the cross & the way He would die. For this purpose He came into the world.
Good & bad people are attracted to Jesus Christ because they know they have sinned somewhere and need a Savior. Only those redeemed by the blood of the Lamb go to heaven.

Although going to heaven is a great fringe benefit, it's not why I am a Christian. Jesus died so I could have a relationship with God Almighty - it is that relationship I want! I don't really need to go to heaven because God is with me every single day, every single second, and lives in my heart.

The offer of "eternal life" is a strong motivator to some. I keep hearing "eternal life" offered to me as an incentive. The catch of course is that you have to die to get it. How convienent. No payoff whatsoever except in the form of a preacher/priest/reverend constantly passing judgement on your life at every available opportunity and relieving you of your spare cash for your own good. Then you die and MAYBE you'll get your prize.
Yeah, right.

Actually, you are wicked as well. The bible says there are none who do good. A Christian merely humbles themselves before God and asks forgiveness for their sins, and believes that Jesus died on a cross to pay for those sins.
I pray to God that He humble your heart and that you not leave this planet without knowing Jesus as your savior, and I ask that in Jesus' name.

There are truly intellectual people who believe in God because they have taken much time to ponder the subject and have come to the conclusion that a supreme being or Deity is behind the order of the universe.

Interesting way of distorting an issue.
Faith in the love and mercy of the one true God, and salvation thru His Son, Jesus, defines me as a person.
