I have a lot of work due monday and i two days for an excuse. What would you say. This is a college course not high school.

This excuse must be good not a death in the family! They will ask for an obituary.

In college, you don't need an excuse because it's up to you to learn. They don't mind if you're there or not because it's your loss not theirs. You should've done the work by now. If you're nearly finished you could ask for an extension or you could just hand in unfinished work. You should at least pass for attempting the work.

Or you could say you had a bad case of IBS (Irritable Bowl Syndrome). No one will question that.

Seems like the best strategy is find the professor's weak spot. This should be real easy since they'll all libs and worse. Is the professor a member of PETA? Well, since PETA people really love animals any number of scenerios could work here. For example, you stopped traffic both ways on the interstate to rescue a homeless canine run over by an evil SUV. Is the professor a True Believer in Global Warming and We're All Gonna Drown? Easy. "Sorry, professor I was doing an ice caps melting experiment and flooded the downstairs apartment and spent the night in jail." Does the professor hate Bush? (They all do) "I was at a Save the Ice Caps meeting and got arrested by Bush's goons and spent the night in jail." See? We're starting to see a pattern here. Let's try another one. "I had to go to my best friends Mike and Steve's wedding" Okay, just one more, then I gotta go. "Sorry professor, we were down on the mall last night at a big bonfire burning boxes of homophobic Christian literature that was full of anti-gay slurs and hate-speech." See, not only will all these "excuses" actually work, but you could very probably gain extra credit in the area of independent study as well. Good luck.

You usually don't need an excuse, most prof. figure if you don't show up it's on you, you paid for this course it's your money down the drain. But you could mention someone became seriouslly ill, there was an unforseen car accident that involved you, or the usual i was sick.

-----It is bad to miss class. If you must chose between going to class and getting the homework done, you chould go to class without the homework. Try hard not to let it happen again. ---Jim
