Even spayed a cat can have feelings. Most likely a good example would be you and your cat. Your cat does not know what species you are or that you for that matter are not just a big cat. If the cat can show affection to you the cat can easily do the same with other cats. Same as people, if you could not mate with a guy does that mean you would fight him rather than be friends (I hope not)
I hope this helps

of course cats can make friends with other pets, not just cats either.
My female cat who is 11 yrs. old brings home strays all the time to get them fed. They never stick around for long, just long enough to get a bite to eat. As a matter of fact she had a male cat out on the porch with her the other night just laying there beside her. Ive seen him quite often hanging around with her. I think she's got herself a boyfriend. LOL

Cats still can have friends. They are fairly independent but they want companionship too. Maybe this other kitty could be part of your family, as long as it doesn't belong to someone else (look for signs like well-fed, groomed, eyes look clear and obvious ones like a collar).

I doubt if she brought the cat home to be her friend. She was probably just having a stand-off with it and letting it know it was not really welcome in her territory. Cats don't always "fight" over this issue so she was just getting her message across in her own quiet way.

you kitty has just made a new friend and think about it, humans enjoy having friends to talk to, relate to, and just hang out with. cats have that same advantage and its great for a kitty to make friends with another one! my moms cat is friends with my cat and they play together all the time. my moms cat is female and was a stray and my kitty is male and I've had him since I was 5 years old (I am 20 now) and he enjoys her company. so that could be what your girl kitty is doing.
just be happy your kitty has found another kitty friend! :)

The cat was neutered, not put down. It still requires attention from others of its species!

Maybe they are just friends. There are cats outside (male and female) that sit outside the window when my female cat is sitting on the sill (inside).
