Actually "Religion" doesn't have to have anything to do with a Deity (a god figure) A religion can be anything at all that you make the focus of your life and try to live by it. But most people today recognise the word as having to do with belief in a "superior god-being" and whichever Belief system a person d ecides to go with, that person pretty much always comes to believe that HIS religion HIS belief system is the right one and the only one that represents "the truth" But because there has absolutely never been a way to clearly demonstrate beyond all possible doubt that this religion is THE one and all the others are wrong, "The Truth" remains a matter of personal belief and conviction only. The leaders of most of the established religions, basically demand the same thing from their "flock" that cult leaders demand from theirs..... Absolute faith, trust, acceptance and obedience. God knows best. Do not question God. Keep believing, and do not challenge faith.
The main conflict between "Religion" and Science is that the first demands blind trust.. in what appears in the written documents pertaining to that particular belief (for christians, the Bible); and in what you are taught by others who supposedly "know"......... and the s econd (the world of science) is about the constant seeking for more and more information, more and more evidence about a particular thing that when they find it, is so compelling, and so demonstrable, that it is beyond the ability of even the staunchest skeptic to deny. It's about the very thing that religion demands that people do NOT do..... question things, keep analysing, keep digging, keep searching, with absolute unbiased objectivity, and do not commit to rigid belief in that thing unless and until you are not only convinced that you HAVE the evidence of it, but that that evidence can be clearly proved to anyone who is so interested. Science knows that the "truth" is out there, waiting for our d iscovery. Religion is about believing that "the truth" is embodied in.... whatever particular denomination it is -- christians believe it is theirs; Muslims believe it's theirs, and so on and so on. Maybe it's just all a huge jigsaw puzzle and each one has a few pieces of it, but nobody has yet put the whole picture together.

religeon in definition is an action followed and done in a certain way something you do on a regular basis but in that definition a persons religeon might be oposit of the truth especialy if they lie on a regular bases repetatively but most of us are in the pursuit of truth and ther are some answers already found and their practice is to teach those truthes and still there are some who might set the truth aside to veiw other claimes just cuz they are not sure if it is the truth but also consider this truth is the truth and its something thats already happen'd so it just is the truth but to pursue truth is an action that you can do again and again while truth is a past time event and we cant realy revrese time to do it again but if the truth of what was done was good we can repeat that good truth in the future but all truthes are not good to repeat even though they truely happend so i think the better question would be is your religeon about goodness oh by the way i dont think god minds if you do ask questions cuz it only shows that you are trying to understand and i think he rather likes that cuz it shows you are at least trying to understand and seeking him

Neither. It is based on mythology, and someone who believes in a religious precept is unlikely to accept truth even if it is demonstrated to his face. (Been there, done that, right here.) Note how different this is from science, where truth is avidly sought, and can cause a complete revolution in earlier ideas if such ideas are proven wrong. (Consider the history of Einstein's Special Relativity.)

Religion is the result of Man's inborn quest for absolute truth.

Neither. Religion is about trying to explain things that were unexplainable to the ancients and to provide some kind of codified behavior controls into the culture. Today it is all about control...who can marry whom, what you can or cannot learn in schools, what politician you need to vote for, and so on ad infinitum.

i think both. Each religion thinks that their beliefs are the truth, although you are still always searching the truth from God.

Religion is, ideally, about people trying to live good lives. Unfortunately, at worst, it can be about people trying to control other people.
But, I like to think that the good intent is usually there.
