the weekend after Thanksgiving. It is a tradition with us: Santa hats, music, cocoa, Christmas Story on the DVD, the whole nine yards. We always travel for Thanksgiving, then come home and get out all our stuff. We spend the next week decorating. The lights don't go up outside until the first weekend in December, because my husband does that and he always tries to put it off, lol!!!
We love Christmas!

We put our lights up on our house any time in November, it gets really cold here by Thanksgiving! But we don't turn them until Thanksgiving Night! I love coming home from my Aunt's (traditional place for the day), and see my lights on! I live on a main road too, and I hope other people are enjoying them too.
I do the inside of my home and finish the outside starting the day after Thanksgiving and throughout the week. We get a real tree, so I wait until one or two weeks before. We take it down the week after New Year's.

I start after Thanksgiving. I will wait until a couple days after I remove my Thanksgiving decorations and start adding my Christmas. I leave my Christmas decorations up until the first of January.

I usually start decorating the first week in December. I love the fall colors of Thanksgiving so I'm always hesitant to take them down.

um... to be honest my family doesn't start decorating until thanksgiving. We usually put up the tree and hang lights and other decors outside at about that week or slack off and then after that but, basically around that timing.

December 1st. put up decorations.
December 31st. Take down decorations.
One month devoted to this holiday is more than enough. Jesus should be celebrated everyday...decorations are just about tradition.

I would begin after Thanksgiving. No point in rushing the seasons faster than that. It can make time go to fast, know what I mean?
I'd say, take the time for each season, to be enjoyed as it comes.
There is a time to every season under heaven.
