My close friend was telling me I should aim for a GTO, but all the ones I looked at were too expensive

Independant suspension makes cornering better than the mustang. We have a GTO 2004 and it has alot more back seat room than a Mustang. It is also going to be a collector's item becuase they are not producing anymore 2006 is the last year. It will hold it's value. Since the GTO has the corvette engine you are basically getting a corvette for 30,000. It is fun to drive also! Alot of people can say they own a Mustang but not as many can say they own a GTO.

Honestly,I have a 99 Mustang and this is my 3rd Mustang.I have had every year a new body would come out. After I got rid of my 86 5.0 Mustang,I bought a 94 5.0 Mustang(that is the last yr they came with the 5.0),I total it out,and got this 99.Basically what I am trying to say is that the same MAJOR **** kept missing up on the 2.I thought if I got a newer model I would have as much problems but I was wrong cause now the samethings I replaced in my 86 and 94 I have to do with this one.No don't get a Mustang they are shity.

It is a great choice! First consider cost you get more horse power and torque out of the mustang per dollar then any other car. Second history and following always a cool factor and fun point with car ownership. The mustang has a great history and loyal fan base. It has more after market parts then any other car and three monthly magazines! For the money its the best sports car on the market. I would suggest the v8 with a stick.

Another exie qwes from SS!

Style-wise, the pony is an excellent choice (you just can't beat those looks!). And the GTO would hold its value much more than the regular ol' mustang, so your friend was correct in that.
However, the car did not get a good rating overall from Consumer Reports (I know, 'who cares!')...but that is a gorgeous rockin' car. I'd have 3 if I didnt have a full-up garage!

I bought a new 2006 Ford Mustang convertible. Yes, they are very expensive. So is the insurance. Before buying any car, check insurance prices, make sure you can afford the car. You don't want to be stuck making payments on something you can't afford. Car payments $400, insurance $300 EACH month.
After you get over 25 your insurance goes down. Thank god.
They are really cool cars. Fast, low to the ground, great movement. I love them. Check on ebay for a cheaper older model. Get what you want. Get what you can afford.

Based on insurance rates, safety, reliability, handling.
There are better sports cars out there. Don't be a follower, research the cars that are on the market and make a smart choice. Be original.

i'd say it's a good choice, as long as it has a v8. but of course, look around at some other cars in your price range too, in case theres something out there that you like better.
