His body language. He doesn't call you anymore, or he tells you he has plans with his friends. Best advise, give him his space. Don't let him know that it bothers you, as this will just push him further away. Get busy with your friends and have fun. If he hears and sees that you are having a good time without him, then he becomes interested again. However, by then YOU may have lost interest in HIM!

If he sounds really irritated then you simply just have to back-off a bit. Don't wait for him to tell you off.
