Can someone give me a website about NY State safety laws..........such as if all road should be painted with lines to divide the traffic?

Try finding the site for the NEW YORK state office of the DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION .Or maybe they have something like [www.newyork.gov ].I know here in MICHIGAN we do .
I have never looked up anything for NEW YORK personaly myself . But it may put you on track.

The dept. of motor vehicles has a web site which may tell you where to go for the answer,if you visit a central dmv they will supply you with info on laws.
Re: road centerlines, city streets that are not "main" streets are not lined and town roads are not lined. County and state roads are lined.
NYS has a website for roads that are closed due to construction, maybe on a subsite they keep all the rules.
