As soon as you leave the hospital.
I had a Cesarean but went out walking with my son a day later.
If you walk regularly pushing a buggy the weight will fall away without too much effort and your baby will get the fresh air necessary to tire him out.
If you are intending to breastfeed take care not to exercise too much, I put on 12 kilos during my pregnancy and lost 25 afterwards in around 5 months.
I didn't go on any diet but too long daily walks and breastfed at the same time.
Don't worry its all for a good cause and good luck because once you see your baby you won't be thinking about any thing else

As soon as you feel ready. Just remember if you have a natural birth you will bleed afterwards, sometime this gets heavier if you do a lot of walking or exercise. To save any embarrassment I would wait till the bleeding stops then you can do whatever exercise you want. I did a lot of swimming when I was pregnant so it was something I got to enjoy also you can talk you baby with you. I took my daughter swimming at a very young age and she is defiantly a water baby its really good.

You should give yourself 6 weeks to recoup from the birth. After 6 weeks start with walking, yoga and pilates. The pilates will get your tummy and squishy sections back to a better shape very quickly. But don't rush. Give yourself a break, you've worked very hard for 9 months to prepare for the birth, it will take time to get it back into shape.

Wait until you have had a 6/8 week check up with your doctor to make sure your OK. Walking and swimming are great ways of toning your body. However if your breastfeeding then doing the good thing of 5 a day regular healthy meals and walking with your pushchair 20 minutes a day will help. it 's hard at first because you tend to feel very tired and things seem a bit surreal with a new born.

sit ups are the best and also, you can start right away. There is no need to wait any certain amount of time. As soon as you feel up to it then start just start out slowly. (as long as you dont have stitches) if you have stitches wait until they are out. The sooner you start the faster you get your body back (or almost).....

It would depend on your whole birthing experience. Your dr would be the best person to ask. They say 6wks, but to make sure your dr says its ok, and don't start out with hard core stuff, start off small.

You should be walking throughout your pregnancy, especially if you intend to have a natural birth. Walking and sexcercise are the forms of excercise for everyone.

6 weeks usually. try walking as much as you can that really helped for me. then your pelvic floors and steadily try sit ups, just dont rush into anything, you might do yourself some damage and thats no good for a new mummy!
