That would seem to make sense. After all this time, Satan isn't going to change his ways. I guess God doesn't believe in the death penalty.

Because god and the devil, are not beings they are more so forces, or spirit. The devil means adversity. And as you can see this world is adverse, because adversity rests in the hearts of man. Everyday we have our own conflict, and struggles. THe human experience, our birth, our childhood, everything we encounter are lessons learned so that we may evolve and find inner peace in the bossom of adversity(the devil) It is the balance the comparison of things to know the consequences of both, so that we may take the responsibility of our actions instead of walking around in a cloud of bliss. God no more cares if we fall down, and scrape our knees. What he does care about is what we learned when we fell. What conclusions did we form when we felt our skin scape the hard cold concrete. And did we learn enough not to do it again. If you believe in the bible, which I feel the bible has wonerful metaphorical messages. Man and woman was not aware, until they invited the devil(the serpant) adversity into their hearts, and then once you know there is no turning back. You just have to go through the motions so that you can find that place again. And that is what we are learning.
I wish you well.

Well, in due time, he will be destroyed. If you mean why did God not do it long ago, it is because doing so would not have resolved the issues raised by the Devil. Time was needed to do that. God is allowing time right now. But time is rather short.

Destroying the Devil immediately would have been a response to a challenge to God's power. But Satan did not challenge God's power. Satan challenged something else. He challenged something that he KNEW would take time to answer. He is not stupid at all.

What we call evil is a force at work in Creation. It's called the
"Scavenger of the gods". It comes behind Creation and gathers
up any unused spiritual energy and recycles it, and sends it
back to the Source of Life to be used again.
Unfortunately, at our level, we have free will. And if we experience
something that hurts us and causes us to hate, be automatically
get in touch with that destructive, recycling aspect.
Or, we can take control over ourselves, and experience the
best that spirit has to offer.
So that's why our Creator cannot just destroy evil.
