I bought a fake hair piece close to my own hair color. The piece is like a circular braid on an elastic band. I gather my own hair with an elastic band and make a little bun. Then I stretch the circular fake piece around mine (like a circular frame), and put a few hair pins around it. Then I put a hair net around it all and keep it in place with hair pins. The hair nets for buns are available at beauty supply stores. The net helps the natural and fake hair blend together and gives it all a neat look.

I believe that www.longhaircareforum.com has an article about bunning your hair.
