that kids(boys and girls) should be taught at an earlier age how to cook,repair elecrical appliances,fix broken things rather than just throwing them out,etc.etc.

nope, they won't learn it, or be interested to learn it until they have to pay for it themselves, then they will learn by experience only....

Most equipment is MADE to cost more to fix than to replace. I agree that teenagers should be shown how to cook and do house repairs.

Sure, if you'll do the teaching.
Public schools don't have the money or resources to teach stuff to potential lawyers what you could be taught at a cheap community collage or technical school.

children have alot on their plates already, so if they are interested why the hairdryer is broken, then yeah show and tell! but maybe wait before they help you out!! but dont pressure them, kids cant be kids for too long now due to learning and general life today so just let them be, cherise what they want to discover and allow them to bloom. x

sometimes it is cheaper to replace than repair on electrical item
