Call information for your local wildlife rescue. They will actually come out and pick up the wounded bird. But chances are the bird might not make it.
They will give you instructions over the phone...so hurry and give them a call!

Unfortunately, cats hunt. It's a "way of life" for them, no matter how much we dont like it. You cant keep your cat 'in'....and you cant put it on a 'leash'........ it's life. I dont mean to sound harsh about it, but... cats, and them hunting, are like 'hand n glove'. This little bird, i'm sorry to say, probably wont make it long enough to see a Vet. Not much that you can really do about it. All of the cats that i've owned, do this too....and you can only 'save' a few birds, chipmunks, or mice, 'sometimes'. It's a really sad thing to watch happen.... but it's "nature".

You know, I don't think it's realistic to keep a hunter inside all the time, or put her on a leash - especially if you live in the country and your cat is far enough away from traffic. One of the jobs of being a cat, aside from being sweet, cute and entirely entertaining, is to get rid of mice. I want my cat to hunt mice, moles and voles. They have ticks that carry Lyme Disease, they tear up the lawn, and build their nasty dirty nests in the grill, in the air conditioning units and the Jacuzzi. Unfortunately, my kitty will probably also learn to hunt birds. I try to keep her inside at night, until dawn, so there is less chance she can catch a bird, but it will happen eventually. I know this is not going to be a popular answer, but I figure "Hey you can't please everybody."
Call the Humane Society, the local Animal Control and try to find some local old woman who takes in injured birds and nurses them back to health.

Don't let your cats kill birds in the first place. I'm sorry to say it's probably done for.

Caution : Never pick up a wild bird or animal with your bare hands. If you can put it in a box and call the DNR or animal control and consult an adult.

u din't tell.. which part of the bird is injured.. is it bleeding....?
the bird must be shocked by ur cat's attack.... and so most probably it won't feed......
try reaching any wildlife/animal welfare organisation near ur area n it'll b best to hand over the bird to them.. or a bird hospital or a vet..
if u don't find one n there is no other way u can hand it over to some animal organisation then..
first try cleaning the wounds using an antiseptic solution like savlon or dettol........
n then apply soframycin on its wound.. or a similar medicine..
also spread some rice, peanuts (u din't mention which bird is it), n try leaving the bird alone..
hope u r able to save the bird..
good luck!

Gee... How about starting with not letting your cat out to hunt!
Take the bird to an animal rescue or a vet. They are trained to help animals so let them do their job. Chances are though if a wild bird is letting you near it, it won't survive.

I am sorry to tell you but - it sounds like it is in death throes now. Once a cat has bitten a bird, rabbit, squirrel, mouse, etc. it will most likely die even if you got it to a vet fast. Cat bites are deadly to small animals.
