Illegals drive down the standard of living for our middle class and reduce wages for our working class so that they become no longer self sufficient. I suspect you are talking about a different country than I am.
Where I am, taxpayers are subsidizing cheap labor for corporations which benefits illegal workers who may have new opportunities we pay for and benefits corporations who expand operations abroad, but does very little for us. They say the price of produce would go up if we had no illegals. However, studies have shown that it would go up $10 per year for a family of four, because labor is such a small part of the price of produce.
I'd pay $10 a year, heck, I'd pay $100 a year, if my kids' schools would return to the educational standards they had 30 years ago.
Not to mention that my taxes would go down at least $1,500 per year from not having to pay for their services, according to other studies I have seen.

Many British people are having to make do with a lower standard of living because of all the immigrants taking jobs and affordable housing.
I don't see how immigrants contribute at all - when they take a job away from a skilled British person because they will do it for £4 an hour and the skilled person in entitled to £10 an hour that benefits no one. The skilled person ends up being unemployed or having to do a poorly paid job to get by, the immigrant take his money back home, who benefits from that? The employer maybe.
I would keep all immigrants out unless they can prove they are bringing a much needed skill and can support themselves without taking anything from the British state or people. That means jobs, benefits, social housing etc.

What do mean by a lower standard of living. The NHS for example would cease to function were it not for foreign doctors and nurses. Would you accept no health care just to have no immigrants? Would you accept less scientific progress - after all the best scientists generally come form Asia. They are generally working in places like Britain, Europe and the US but sure, send them home and watch your countries go backwards.
What about finance? If you throw out immigrants then you lose their money too. Regardless of where it comes from they still have to spend it and that means that it keeps people in Britain in a job. When this money is no longer being spent - and it won't be spent because there are too many lazy Brits that won't do the work immigrants are doing - then you will have to pay more in taxes to support a greater number of unemployed.
I certainly welcome immigrants and the work they do.

If South Africa, Australia and New Zealand threw out all the British our population would double overnight.
As a matter of interest we would also have to pay a lot of these people a full pension ( pensions are frozen when people live in these countries).
Spare a thought for the locals in the Dordogne where about 250,000 British live. You can even buy the local newspaper in English in some places.

Yes!,but on the other hand, everything I have, I have worked and paid for,I have not had "a free ride" as most of these immigrants seem to look upon as a right,Islamic fundamentalists should not be allowed in the U.K.,neither should any religious fanatics of any faith

This is a interesting question,I wouldn't let anything or any body "lower"my standard of living. To me that's not a possibility. They tell that same lie here about the illegall aliens that have flooded the USA..I refuse to accept it as a fact and NO one has ever offered positive proof that the illegals help this nations economy. Its a myth perpetuated by the pro illega supporters. The cost to this nation for their "cheap labor" far outweighs any benefit.

It would also mean less death and destruction as a result.
They have certainly increased the risk of violence by the belief that those that do not believe in Islam have to be killed.
Lower standard of living. NOT DEATH.

The first time is the most difficult....it's easy after that. My suggestion... enlist the services of a very pretty girl. Although the sticker price may seem high...it is less than you might invest in (the possibility of) a woman you might try to court. Once you have your confidence, you'll do better in the long term pursuits.

emigrants contribute to the economy only because they do work for low wages, farming do profit.
unfortunately, the ones to suffer are the one on the lowest income. most jobs for emigrants-if legal-will be from employment agencies, this means that employers do not have to offer long term jobs to the unskilled.... a vicious circle
another point: there are 2 millions english people who have emigrated abroad, as opposed to 2.5 millions emigrants coming in.... should the english people be sent back home???
