Why are you letting her do that so young? Just curious because that piercing can take up to a year or more to heal, and at her age she may not be as attentive to taking care of it during the healing process as she would if she were older. I might at least wait until she's 13, and you have the perfect excuse, and a place that will allow it then.

I bet this is a 12 year old acting like her mother which would explain the spelling she is trying to sneak a fast one., hahaha This is why kids are growing up to fast media and parents who get sucked into the whole media deal too. This is not just a fad it is a statement of saying " im sexy" and its allowing ur 12 year old to do this. You see 12 and 13 year olds walking around with hip huggers and eyeliner and lipstick tight clothes and the whole belly deal and it makes them look like they are 20! Makes me sick. The 12 year old is gonna either get her harrassed by guys raped and/or gonna end upmaking her mom be a grandma within a year or two and itd be ur own fault. And no its not all just because of the belly ring its just the fact that u are allowing yourself ( or her if this is sadly really the mother) to do adult things and you are still a child.n slow down live life the belly ring is not gonna be in style forever and if infected then u will have an ugly hole there when it goes out of style

I agree with one of the other answerers, if a kid can get their ears pierced then why not her belly button? A piercing is a piercing. At least this woman is not forcing it on her newborn baby like some moms do. It is those women who don't deserve to be moms!

NOW WITH THAT SAID, from my understanding you can get a belly piercing at any age, but just not a tattoo until 18. Contrary to beliefs of some, tattoo places are the best place to get the piercing done. They are under the same sterilization requirements as dental offices, they have autoclaves and have to use desposible things like gloves and barriers. I would ask around for a good tattoo parlor that does piercings.

But does your daughter understand that that is going to be painful? I had mine done at 23 and it hurt even then. Just keep it really clean so it doesn't it doesn't get infected.

hey im no parent, but i am educated enough to know that u dont let a 12 year old have a piercing! she's still a girl, not even a young lady! so i personally think you gotta let her wait a while, n dont give the excuse that she cant wait!!! there are people who need more things than a belly piercing and will never get those things..

Who is the parent in this situation? Not only would she be waiting till she turned "13" but she would be waiting until she turned "18" where she wouldn't need your permission. You might want to put some things into perspective and become the parent again, instead of letting a 12 year old boss you around. I can't believe you seriously asked this question on here.

I don't think that she even needs to have it done when she is 13. Those things are just sick. What kind of parent let's their kids do these things? Times sure have changed since I was a teenager/young adult. My parents would have killed me if I would have even asked to get that done. Now parents are the ones taking their "babies" in to get piercings and tattoos done.

Do yourself and your child a favor and don't do it!!!
