If you are referring to a sister in Tennessee born to your biological mother she is your "biological half sister". If she was born of your father, but not your mother, she is your "biological half sister". If she was born to both of your biological parents, she is your "biological sister". If she is a child of your adopted parents, she is your "sister". (or, unnecessarily, your "sister by adoption")
I hope this has helped.
