Honest hard working Americans did them. And they will do them again if necessary. There used to be crews of harvesters that traveled the country with machines and workers that would harvest the crops and pick the fruit. They were hard working people and they weren't white trash they were honest Americans doing a needed job.
Americans are hard working and some of the most productive, enterprising people in the world.Who do you think invented the conveniences you enjoy today.Americans did.
We mowed our on laws,we cleaned our own houses, and Americans of all races did all the "jobs Americans wont do" That's simply rhetoric and BS .Get a grip people .They were done by Americans and will be again if need be.
No amnesty by any name

Cesar Chavez was AGAINST ILLEGALS he said they lowered wages for the Mexican workers in the USA,he would send men to the border to try to talk the illegals into staying in Mexico, when talk didn't work they forced them back into Mexico, with clubs and weapons..You need to know all the facts about this great man of history.

This is cracking me up. You people are so ignorant. You are falling for media propaganda. There is no problem with the employment issues or the immigrants or anything that "they" would like you to believe. My Father worked as a Nurses Aid in his time. In the Army, and after the war, as a civilian in a Veteran's Hospital. And I am very proud of him for that. After his health forced him to retire, he still needed to provide for a Family of 8. He swept grocery store parking lots, with just a push broom. He was a crossing guard Supervisor, on the corner, in inclement weather, rain or shine, every day with those children, with out fail. He cleaned office buildings, scrubbing urinals and floors, etc, by day, and by night. He did many jobs other less enlightened and ungrateful people would not do. They would rather lay down and die than do these jobs. My Father did them all with a smile on his face, a lilt in his step, and a song in his heart. He was not ashamed and neither am I. I have a college education and good job skills and I am not too proud to cheerfully clean a Macy's store at 6 in the morning, so shoppers can enjoy the aesthetics and pleasant atmosphere when they start shopping later in the day. Those jobs are still out there and there is no excuse for any lazy American citizewn not to find work. People of other ethnicities are not taking all these jobs, there are plenty of jobs still out there. And I am proud to work right along side anyone who is also willing to work. We all got bills to pay, and mouths to feed. Even if it's only one's own. By the way, I am an American citizen. World traveller. College educated. And of no one ethnicity and proud of it!

Migrant workers who came during the harvest and WENT BACK afterwards (those who stayed became our illegal immigrants of today) and also legal immigrants, school kids in the summer and Fall, unskilled Americans, and anyone who couldn't find a job anywhere else.

The USA can do without the people who are here illegally from ANY country.

How far back are you talking because my father was the cook/dorm keeper for an agriculture farm for over thirty years and even then illegal immigrants were the ones doing the farm work. And did I mention he hasnt done that line of work for over ten years so we're talking as far back as 45 years that this has been going on.

Well for the jobs they are always screaming about, cleaning toilets, food, dishwashers, housekeepers etc..... Those Jobs were usually filled by Americans (of all colors) the majority of them not going to college or even those that dropped out of school.
The pro side seems to forget that NOT every American is able to go to college. Some people choose to enter the workforce straight out of HS. In the states where there are not a high number of illegals this is still the case.

The a result of more of these jobs are available and not enough people 'willing to do them' in our population... Somehow, along the way, someone(s) decided it was below them to do field labor, paint a fence or whatever it is that needed to be done.

Amazingly, these things must be done by someone... and must have been done by someone. I guess there was a time when a man wasn't ashamed or afraid to do a honest day's work in the sun. Or a time when a young man understood that general labor only brought in so much income, but served as a stepping stone to bigger and better things. Now our young men think they are entitled to maximum wage and benefit without proving their worth. Thank goodness a person who left another country due to a lack of opportunities doesn't think that way. Heck, before they didn't have anyone to prove their worth to begin with!

Who invaded America?

Cesar Chavez was a Mexican American who fought for just wages for migrants picking the fields in the US. He led his campaign back in the 60's and 70's, so you see there is quite a history of Mexicans working in the agricultural sector. Today most meat-packing plants are run with illegal immigrants from Mexico. It is not work you would want to do.
In the past, the migrant workers would work the fields and then return home to Mexico. Today, the migrant workers choose to stay here, as well as many others seeking better opportunities in the US. What feels like an invasion to you is actually what America has faced many times before, the Irish, Poles, Danish, Dutch, English, African Americans (unwillingly) have all been immigrants too.
If we really want to stem the immigration tide, we should spend the money for building a wall on strengthening the Mexican economy. As you've seen in the news, the people of Mexico want their government to respond to their needs. They wouldn't be so quick to leave home if life at home was good.

Americans, illegal immigration depressed wages, so it became undesirable for us to wash dishes, do construction, work in slaughterhouses....A person paid under the table, w/ no taxes, no insurance taken out can afford that wage.

What invasion? The USA was built and founded by immigrants.

the americans did these jobs. we didnt need any illegals to come in and do them for us. and we still don't need the illegals to come in and do them.
My mom worked in a packing house for yrs. her and the other legal Americans worked hard and long hrs. and the pay was crappy but, it was still a job that got done by Americans.
This BS that everyone is saying...the illegals are doing the jobs that the Americans wont do, is an excuse to hire illegals. That is an excuse to keep them around and save money for themselves.
Pretty crappy when our own American citizens are so greedy that they would lie on their own people and call us lazy.
We're not lazy they are cheap back stabbers who don't care about their own country. only about themselves.
