On a package I sent to a soldier I adopted through www.soldiersangels.com, I wrote several things on the package. I wrote: freedom isn't free...thank a veteran, and thank you all USA soldiers for your sacrifices...America Loves You. But, I also wrote God Bless All the USA soldiers, the new sovereign Iraqi Government and the peaceful Iraqi people. My question: Will they get upset by the last thing I wrote?

It won't upset us at all. I served in Iraq and I'm currently in Afghanistan. We support the people over here who are trying to make a country out of the shambles they have been in for many years.

Heck we don't even let comments like AirMonkey bother us. Why would a goodwill message bother us.

Our troops are non-political, however they trust themselves more than they do the Iraqi government and the Iraqi people. Those Iraqi people are the same people who potentially take up arms against our troops or hide IED's in their homes, at best, it's an uneasy relationship. Our guys have been lured into traps by, what appeared to be, well intentioned Iraqi civilians, and sometimes even children.

The Iraqi government is not something the average GI deals with on a day to day basis. That's the job of senior officers and government officials to worry about, however the decision by the Iraqi PM to have the Americans stand down at Sadr City, could not have been none too popular amongst the Americans guarding that perimeter.

The sectarian violence, and the government leaning to one side versus another, became quite clear that al Malaki supports the Shiite and the anti-American cleric al Sadr, over the Sunni tribesmen. This move can only add fuel to the civil war, as well, it gives support and suspicion to the fact that al Malaki, like Sadr, are Iranian puppets. Boy, we sure know how to pick em!

No, I'm pretty sure they won't be upset at all. And yes, many of them do support the Iraqi government, even though some have their doubts about the people.

I think they will be happy to see a government stand and be sovergien of America, because that means they won't have to be there! We aren't fighting for our right to live there, so it's weary to fight for a people who seem to not want the peace. Some Iraqis believe that democracy=sinnful nation. Thus, they resist America, because our media has been lighting up our bad side, not all the good America does.

that's my perspective from civilian point of view.

The Good People of Iraq will not be upset. THEY understand that you wish them well, and support them in the same manner as you support American Troops. The Reference to God will be understood to be your Religion. They respect Our Religion, as we respect theirs.
The problem is than some of the People of Islam, have changed and perverted the Islamic Religion, to Justify their Terrorist Killings of Men, Women and Children of Any Religion.

They won't be upset. We got tons of packages when I was there...a lot of them had stuff written on them. It is very unlikely that the soldier you have adopted is too concerned with politics right now and I am sure they won't care.

hell no they have a job to do and that is being impartial to this government .you would probably have to look north to Canada where there are over 250 AWOL soldiers who have been to Iraq and refuse to go back see how they feel about the Iraq government .

it incredibly is his perfect accomplishment... being against the conflict, being against the troop surge, declaring the conflict isn't "winnable", previously he replaced into for it. i did no longer hear him blame the fulfillment of the Iraq conflict on bush this time....

On the news it seems like this government is trying to distance themselves from us because they think we are going to pull out, so maybe they would. If we go, they will be toast. I don't know.
