I am sure you know that you must have proof not just suspicion, my advise is to install a camera for any future attempts. The police should be able to help by conducting an investigation of your complaint of vandalism. I am a retired police officer and every time we got complaints on vandalism we had to investigate them.

According to the Department of Natural Resources (IN), when ANY animal is destructive to your property, you are allowed to kill it. I don't know if that would hold up in court, but it sure kept the vandals away from my house 10/31/06. Last year, they caused over $100.00 in damage. Maybe, you have a BIG brother or friend who could have a "talk" with this gut about changing his manners?

keep a log of when this this happening also take pictures if it is bad go ahead and call a officer out to take a report if you think that it is him try to catch him in the act and get a picture go down and file for a warrant for arrest. get her out of ur house if she is not out already you do not need this stress if she was a friend she would already be gone .. also if she filed for a restraining order she does not need to be around him until she gets it dropped of she could be arrested for violating the order. make sure after she leaves go ahead and change the locks ...in case she had a key made and u do not know . ... the police cannot do anything unless they catch him in the act but you can get a warrant for his arrest but you got to be able to prove it in court

The first thing you can do is distance yourself from this woman and not allow her to enter your home again. If there is more vandalism, immediately report it to the police by dialing 911.

If you have insurance on the building, use your insurance. If you can prove who did the vandalism, you can sue that person to recover your loss.
Put a surveillance camera on the premises if you can afford to do so.

Tell your friend to find another woman. This just isn't worth the headache.

Set up a video camera... Maybe some motion detectors ect... Not much the cops can do though unless they actually catch him in the act of doing it.
