Because there are a lot of desperate people out there and some people prey on their weakness. I have been lured into it myself with the whole sweepstakes thing but I saw the overwhelming odds and stopped doing it. At some point you wise up are realize that you have to work for what you get in life and that is the only surety that you will get. I think we all have a bit of the unrealistic dreamer in us. We do not need to get rid of the dreamer part just the unrealistic part...dreams can come true but you have to work to achieve them.

Bible says do not lay up your riches on earth were dust can corrupt and thieves can steal. Lay up your riches in Heaven where they will last an eternity. Nothing here on earth can you take with you when you go.
