in football it is where the team crosses the line before the ball is snaped. In relationships it is where a person makes a move before the other person is ready for it. Usually a kiss or a foul placed hand

As the forward on your team's offense, there must be one defender even or between you and the opposing goal keeper when the ball is kicked to you or in the direction of the goal in a position for you to make a run on it. Otherwise you could have a couple of your guys hanging out with the goal keeper waiting for your defenders to kick the ball to that end of the field. The defenders will often play what is called an offside trap, they form a line and move the other teams offensive players toward mid field and right before the other team kicks the ball, they will step toward mid field making the offensive player offside. You cannot be offside on your own half of the field. I hope I expained that well enough, I can't draw a picture here.

It's referring to sports...there is an off-side rule in football and hockey...
Some men get annoyed having to explain it..... so that shoud tell you how important it really isn't...lol.
Look for a guy that pays more attention to you than sports.

As it applies in hockey, it applies in dating.
One member of the team goes back into the zone when one of his teammates has failed to clear the zone. (A guy bags his buddy's ex or current girlfriend = offside!)
