try that sunsilk shampoo and conditioner. i use that and it gets all the curls and kinks out....there is also a 24/7 cream that you can use throughout the day if it gets humid and your hair starts to want to curl.

Try using an open patterned hairbrush and blow dry your hair,by brushing your hair from roots to tips. This allows the heat to pass through the brush, and helps to smooth it out.

Perm it straight! Boots do a home kit £14.99 that is brilliant, and as good as a salon treatment that can cost around £300/400! I did it myself, and the results are fab!

My hair is straighter if I blow dry that if I leave it to dry naturally it but that's just me. Straightness of hair is determined by genetics so there's no real way to change it apart from straightners.

Buy a flat iron, you may have to do it a few times to each hair section if you have a lot of curl. But it does work and leaves hair soft and shiny. You can find them in drug stores or places like Wal-Mart.
