There seem to be so many young men and women on this site that want everybody to support the troops , and win the war, etc etc. why don't they just all enlist and go win the war?
if you are unfit for duty OK. but otherwise you should be over there helping out instead of just running your mouth like bush and all his other cowardly friends who never looked down a rifle barrel from the wrong end.( like CHENEY)

JUST THE FACTS:
sorry guy, i guess you trust them more than I. I always question authority. I do understand what you mean. this blind loyalty to experts is very dangerous faith.
It can easily backfire on you.
I think the generals are intimidated by Rumsfield into not stating their own opinions or standing up to him for fear of losing their jobs and pensions. This is not good leadership.
by the way, I did do my duty to my country as a youth . 4 years USAF 1961-1965

JOSH- you are reported. that is no way to debate an issue. If you cannot enlist, please go to college and get an education. or go to anger management.

Supporting our troops and the war in Iraq aren't the same thing. US military sign an oath to do what the US government tell them to do. It's not their fault we're in Iraq. I support our troops, but I want our government to end the war and let them go home to their families.

Unfortunately, since the war is already started it's not possible to just leave; but I'd like to see the young people replaced by GW, Cheney, and the rest of the politicians who thought it was such a great idea. Personally, I'd send John Kerry first, so he can try to earn some of the medals he brags about.

Speaking of running mouths and being over there--------do you have any reasons to be running your mouth instead of being there doing your part for your country to get out of this battle? I, spent over 20 years in the military. How much time have you spent? Using your reasoning, no one has the right to support or conduct the war in Iraq (which IS a front within the war on terror) if they have not served in the military. If none of us have spent any time in the pentagon where strategy and tactics are developed, we have no right to even suggest that the war is going bad, or the tactics are wrong, or Rumsfeldt does not know what he is doing and so on. DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT THE HELL I AM SAYING?

Why should they? They can sit comfortably in their living rooms and write ignorant emails about how great the war is and claim to be such good patriots. They are cowards-- morally, intellectually and corporally. Bush and Co. led us to war in Iraq based on lies, have lied about the progress of the war and used simplistic fears to manipulate the armchair patriots. It's sad, in the most pathetic of ways-- men and women who cared enough to fight for their country are dying or being maimed for life for lies and our 'fearless' armchair patriots want more death and destruction for our troops still in Iraq.

Most young people like you have pint up angst. You will calm down some day and realize the world doesn't revolve around you and your undeducated, childish, and knee jerk opinions. Why don't you try to contribute to society instead of sitting on your computer all day. "Give don't Take!!!"

I served my country for 8 years. And when did you serve your country, big mouth?
You got out of the Air Force in 1964? Just when Nam was starting to heat up. Awfully brave of you.

tell this to yr george w.bush if he is really a us citizen then he should go to iraq personally to fight on his own rather than sending the troops and let them die and keep on telling the americans that we are winning the war.

I have done my tour in Iraq.

If you go to www.wordsforiraq.com you'll find a collection of poems, satires, quotes, etc., and one of them begins 'Dear Mr. President/Please draft the NRA ...'

Your sentiments exactly.
