I am not being disrespectful or anything like that, but would geuinely like to know the answer.
According to the Quran 112:3, never did he beget (God), neither was he begotten.
Assuming you believe that he created us, how is this so, if he doesn't beget??

I agree that he has no children in the sense that we have children. The bible makes it clear, when you read it in context that he created Jesus, but that Jesus was the first born of all creation, being in heaven long before he came down to the earth. God therefore transfered the life of Jesus into the womb of Mary.
God did not need a "wife".
The term only begotten simply means created without assistance. This does not mean he "needed" assistance with the rest of creation, only that he was not alone in creating. Jesus is called in the bible, God's master worker.
Only God though is Almighty.

Mawarda...
The bible does call the angels "sons of the true God". It also refered to Adam as a son of the true God.
Obviously, he did not father them all, but did create them all.

he created us. He did not have us as reproducing with someone else :) else that would mean he had a partner. Your question is very good. I asked myself that back in 1996~ when I was thinking of switching :)

Surah 112: Surah Al-Ikhlas
112.1 Say: "He is Allah, The One (Ahad and Only One)"
112.2 "Allah the Eternal (Samad, the Ever Enduring), the Absolute (and Alone).

Ahad means Uniquely One.. therefore you cannot in anyway associate God with any human characteristics. The first two verses state that although God is separate and distinct from all His creation, He is not similar to anything, and nor related to anyone, yet He is not heedless and inconsiderate of His creation. He is their shelter and savior. Neither is He begotten, nor does He beget. And no one is even close to being equal to Him. The relation of the Creation with the Created is neither that of a father, or a son or a partner.

This relationship is that of the worshippers and the Worshiped -- The Master and His submitting servants.

Since God created angels as well... does that mean angels are his 'children'? My point is that all His creations are merely His creatures.

*addition*
I'm sorry are we talking about the Bible or the Qur'an here? B/c your question states the Qur'an. And by the way, Muslims believe that God is The Magnificent and All Sufficient.. we are nothing compared to Him. If we call ourselves His children wouldn't that somehow degrade His superiority? God loves us more than we can imagine as it is, we don't need to be His 'children'. In Islam we also believe that when God created Adam, He asked the angels and devils to bow down to Adam which means in God's eyes we are at a higher level than angels! But at the end of the day we are just God's humble servants.

Propogation of species is the basic aim of begetting.DNA gets transferred from generation to generation to keep a species going that is a characteristic of living organism and living things.God(ALLAH) is a creator He is unique, the one and only.He does not have any limitations be it health age or otherwise. He is eternal. He doesnt need to propogate Himself. He is one and only. The need to beget is a creation thing not a need for a limitless creator. Our fault lies in trying to understand Allah from human need perspective He is unlike anything or anyone we know and therefore drawing inferences and comparisons is a mistake and sin of the Highest kind in His kingdom, which leads to erroneous beliefs.Just Imagine what you are saying and the inferences it creates, if HE begot wouldnt what HE begot be god too,so why would HE stop there the universe would be full of gods and godesses there would be chaos and no order in the universe as we see today.Think before you believe or propogate beliefs.

We of course believe every one and every thing is created by God but that doesn't anyway make anyone Son of God. Christians believe Jesus as the only begotten son of God, where as they do not consider the same with Adam who is also creation of God.

GOD doesnt begot any son, he doesnt have a mother or a father or a sister or a brother or a wife....he is the only GOD, the only one who created the whole humanity...he created jesus as he created Adam n the rest of human....those who said that jesus is the son of GOD r doing the biggest mistakes in their life, this makes GOD very angry, cuz jesus peace be upon him is only a prophet like mussa, ibraham, joseph, n mohamed...peace be upon them all....

In the Qur'an we find the following two statements:

39:4
Had Allah wished to take to Himself a son,
He could have chosen whom He pleased out of those whom He doth create:
but Glory be to Him! (He is above such things.)
He is Allah, the One, the Irresistible. (Yusuf Ali)
If Allah had willed to choose a son,
He could have chosen what He would of that which He hath created.
Be He Glorified! He is Allah, the One, the Absolute. (Pickthall)

6:101
Wonderful Originator of the heavens and the earth;
How can He have a son when He has no consort?
He created all things, and He hath full knowledge of all things.
Sura 39:4 and 6:101 agree on the actuality, that Allah does not have a son, but they contradict each other in the issue of ability or possibility.

Sura 39:4 clearly states that God could have taken Himself a son from among his creation, i.e. without the necessity of a consort to father such a son. But Sura 6:101 clearly rejects the same idea as a logical impossibility. But the question is who is Jesus father???????
Is Jesus the son of Allah? The Qur'an says no. Yet it is also entirely consistent with the Qur'an to consider Allah the Father of Jesus for the following reasons:

1) Allah caused Mary to become pregnant with Jesus
2) Allah determined some of the physical characteristics of Jesus
3) All of the genetic characteristics of Jesus were determined by just two parties: Allah and Mary.

A Muslim might argue "Being a father implies having sex", and therfore Allah cannot be the father. Not necessarily so. Modern science has brought us "test tube babies", which are conceived without any sex. There is nothing to support the idea that if Allah wants a baby, he must resort to normal human means to have one.

Again, a Muslim may say that if we are going to call Jesus the son of Allah, then we should say that Adam is the son of Allah too. No, we cannot compare Adam to Jesus this way because Adam came into existence without a mother.

Let us first review some background material. What does the Qur'an say about how Mary became pregnant with Jesus? In Surah 3:45-49 we read:

The angels said to Mary: "Allah bids you rejoice in a word from him. His name is the Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary. He shall be noble in this world and the hereafter, and shall be favored by Allah. He shall preach to men in his cradle and the prime of manhood, and shall lead a righteous life."
"Lord", she said, "how can I bear a child when no man has touched me?"
He replied: "Such is the will of Allah. He creates whom He will. When He decrees a thing He need only say: 'Be' and it is. He will instruct him in the Scriptures and in wisdom, in the Torah and in the Gospel, and send him forth as an apostle to the Israelites..."
From this passage we can draw the conclusions presented above:
1) Allah caused Mary to become pregnant with Jesus. Muslims infer from this passage and others like it that Jesus was conceived while Mary was a virgin by the word spoken by Allah, and not by a man.

Not that this in itself implies that Allah is the father. When a doctor causes a woman to become pregnant by artificial insemination, he is not considered the father. Hence the following two points:

2) Allah determined some of the physical characteristics of Jesus.
When Allah said "Be", did he have something specific in mind? Certainly! Allah had a very detailed plan in mind for Jesus. In particular, Allah decided that Jesus would be male. Normally, it is the sperm that decides the gender of the baby. Here Allah made the choice instead.

3) All of the genetic characteristics of Jesus were determined by precisely two parties: Allah and Mary.
This is clear because they were the only two parties involved. So we conclude that Allah and Mary are the only two possible candidates for the title "Father".

Hence it appears legitimate to call Allah the father of Jesus, at least in a figurative sense. Therefore we are at a loss to explain why the Qur'an spends so much space arguing against this. Certainly more and better justification is needed than what appears in these passages:

Surely they lie when they declare: "Allah has begotten children".
-- Sura 37:151
Where is the "lie" in our reasoning above?

They say: "Allah has begotten a Son". Glory be to Him! His is what the heavens and the earth contain; all things are obedient to Him. Creator of the heavens and the earth! When he decrees a thing, He need only say "Be", and it is.
-- Sura 2:116
Allah made Mary pregnant. What more would Allah have to do if he wanted a legitimate son?

Allah forbid that He Himself should beget a son! When He decrees a thing He need only say "Be," and it is. -- Sura 19:35
So is Allah unable to beget a son by saying "Be"?

Say: "If the Lord of Mercy had a son, I would be the first to worship him". -- Sura 43:82
We would prefer something more convincing from the Qur'an than this.

begotten has something to do with fatherhood, God is neither father nor son. That's what the verse is about.
