I'm not sure! I KNOW the reason a 41 year old would want to date a 24 year old, but that is too much of an age difference!
If my dad dated someone a year older than me, she would be about 56 years old, ( my dad is 81), and I would have to say good for them!
Just let your dad be who he is and enjoy his life as best he can! We don't get older in spirit, just in body!

Oh yes i would be but as long as if your dad is happy that is all that counts.I'll tell ya though I would b very uncomfortable with that because of being close in age.,but that will eventually go away.My mom was with my father who was 22 years older then her then she married my stepfather who was 18 years older now after 18 years they seperated and she ended up with a 27 year old .It was wierd at first becuse he was 1 years older then my boy toy and i wasn't much younger either. You'll get use to it but u don;t have to like it .Just b respectful cfor your fathers sake.

I agree with "over drugged's" answer, it's short and to the point! If he's happy, who cares? This would be a problem to me only if I was thinking about dating this girl. It's not like you have a big chunk of the female population ripped away from your possibilities of dating. It's one girl, sorry, one young woman. I hope you type in one response or addition to your question. What happened to your Mom? Divorced, death? And hows the rest of your family taking this? Just kind of would like to know. Not really that important, just curious.

My father not only dated a woman 1 year older than me, he married her (she was 19 and he was 45 at the time). It was terrible. But every dark cloud has a shining lining, right? It's 30 years later and guess who is stuck taking care of him? Not me! I know how hard this is for you, but just live your own life well (don't follow your father's footsteps) and you'll do ok in the long run.

Yeah, it's pretty upsetting, and even embarassing. My dad did the same thing, after my parents split up. After the second one took him for everything he had, he learned his lesson, and started dating women who were more in his age bracket. Now, he lives in Houston, married to an ugly woman. What can you do? Hang in there!

Wow, yeah, I would be a little creeped out too. However, she is legal, so your dad can date her if he chooses. You have to decide if this is a big enough issue that you can't overlook, because if you can, you should try. I feel that it is unfortunate that he is using her obviously but I guess if she is fine with it too than that is their business. It is too bad that your father dosen't have the common sence that you do.

wow, that is an awkward situation...go into the meeting with an open mind...your dad obviously sees good qualities in her...make up your own mind about the relationship bas on what you see. if you observe them together and still are uncomfortable, then tell your dad that you dont wish to see her when you visit him. if they are not married or living together, then that shouldnt be a problem.
