this is his second tour the first one when he came home his wife was living with a new man so i really want to make this special for him. I have most of it but not the closing cost which is almost 2000 i would hate to see him lose his house because i forgot to save for closing cost.

There are a few ways which have been mentioned before, such as a credit card cash advance, or have the sellers pay the closing costs. You could also have the closing costs "rolled" into the final mortgage also saving you from having to put up more cash up front!

smones: Just because someone is returning from war doesn't mean they are in the military full time! Have you heard of the National Guard and the Reserve? These people all have civilian jobs AND have given selfless service to their country by serving in the Guard or Reserves!

financial advice: If you can't even afford 2000.00 for the closing costs then you shouldn't buy a house. He is coming home from the military then that means he doesn't even have a job yet. THe realestate market is going down, making it a buyers market. It would probably be for the best if he lost this house and waited until he found a job and could afford the closeing costs!!!

you would think that after what your son did for our country that there would be some kind of goverment program he could apply for at little or no cost i would look in to the veterans association they might be able to help you should also buy the house in canada so your son doesnt have to go back. i am glad he is safe god bless you both and good luck
