The federal government is investigating the takeover last year of a leading American manufacturer of electronic voting systems by a small software company that has been linked to the leftist Venezuelan government of President Hugo Chávez
The inquiry is focusing on the Venezuelan owners of the software company, the Smartmatic Corporation, and is trying to determine whether the government in Caracas has any control or influence over the firm’s operations, government officials and others familiar with the investigation said..

Do you think there is a problem with the machines?
Last night,on TV,a man hacked into the machine in less than one minute, and caused it to produce false results..
Do you think voting machines need to be bought from an American firm and not from another country?Do you think they could be rigged to change the votes that reflect how people feel about illegal aliens, pro or anti ?Do you think your vote is safe from tampering?
What are your thoughts on this?

Yes I definitely think they need to be bought in the US from a government contractor. Boy, this globalism is really getting out of hand, on security issues. First the ports, then this.

By the way, I had been planning on voting early by machine. I guess I'd better look into the software first...

I think it is a political ploy,It is simply ridiculous to think that they would have let the sale of that company to any foreign government
. Its all part of the fear factor they are trying to push, the big bad CHAVEZ just because he is a socialist who nationalized the oil and gas industries. You should be more worried about the conduct of DIEBOLD after all the owner did say for all to hear i will do anything to get the republicans in power at any cost. And the fact that no-one other than his company has the rights to inspect the machine software says it all .

Trash the machines - all of them....I want paper ballots - I would even help count them....its worth my time and inconvenience because at this point its the only way I can believe that I still live in a democratic society "of the people and by the people". WAKE UP PEOPLE!!! Don't be sheep, start a revolution....I want Paper not hard plastic when it comes to my vote.

It's too late for this election but all these machines should be trashed.

We must have uniform written ballots in all States.

A photo I.D. must be presented before voting. To bad the Dems and ACLU considered this discrimination.
