go to the grocery store and get a can of plain pumpkin and give your pup a tablespoon of it. It is safe and it works.

If you really think he is constipated, put some oil with his food. Any edible oil should do. I wouldn't use castor oil though, that would be a bit harsh.

Try about a tablespoon full to begin with as this is a small dog. If you don't have any oil about you could try sardines or tuna in oil - it will make his breath stink though.

in the bakers isle you can get pumkin pie filler not the ready made its the small can do not give her too much or she will have the runs just a little about half a teaspoon should do the trick... it is natural and safe and she will love it tastes good to them. not to mention cheap

try taking a warm wet washcloth and wiping his / her "behind" with it. When the pup was with their mother that is how the mother would stimulate a bowl movement for their young.
