I can't prove anything to you that you do not want to believe. All I can do is be honest and tell you what happened to me that made me believe.
Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.
While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.
Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.
I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.
I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.
I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.
Your brother don

There are people who have had near death experiences but I think that's as close as you are going to get to "proof".
I think that people put too much thought into this although I truly understand the reasoning.
The reality is this, we are all going to find out one way or the other.
I can tell you that I hope that there is something beyond us but this is not the same as telling you that I KNOW there is.
In fact, I had a near death experience. I want to believe what happened to me was something supernatural BUT I also realize that perhaps it wasn't.
I know that there is an order to the universe and I have faith that God and science can co-exist. I am neither and athiest nor a religious zealot.
I think it can be both ways. I think some things are random and some things are not.
While some take science and find themselves further and further away from faith, I look at science and I see how intertwined every single thing on Earth is. I find it amazing that the largest animals in the sea often time feed on the tiniest organisms in the sea - get rid of the plankton and you do away with the marine food web.
I read somewhere that rain (excluding hail) cannot fall faster than something like 22 miles per hour (if anyone can verify this PLEASE do so because I cannot remember where I saw it). Faster than 22 miles per hour could cause physical harm to life on the earth. Granted when the hail falls, we all take cover- that's a given. If this information is false then I stand corrected. I'm not perfect.
I guess my point is that like it or not, we are connected to eachother and we are connected to every single thing on this planet (as well as the universe). This isn't relgion, it's science however, if you take a step back, you can see how "God" might exist in some form though I don't buy into a old guy sitting on a cloud waiting for us to die....
This probably isn't the answer you are looking for but it's the best I can do at this God awful hour of the morning with a burning sore throat.
Have faith the universe has order. If nothing else, you can believe in that.
(I'm sick of the spell check NOT working!)

Wow. I am surprised we havent got a buncha fools yet saying "oh yes it is in the bible, and god told us it is true, therefore, there must be life after death."
NO, there is no proof. But I think everyone wonders it from time to time. I don't wonder about the possibility of getting into "heaven" or "hell" because that is just rediculous.
But I do wonder if our minds and bodies are seperate. It sure feels like they are. A mind is something you can not measure, touch, see, taste, smell. It is just there.....sort of on this almost 5th dimension if you wil. So, I wonder if because they are so seperate, does our mind continue to wander after our bodies die? As sort of this seperate being, this force that never dies? It is fun to imagine and wonder. I have been doing it ever since I realized that I was "self aware"
ok now im rambling

How can you have proof of life after death? The physical cannot comprehend the spiritual. Faith bridges the gap. With out faith there is no way to know God. God is Spirit. If you think of it like software. Carnal nature is not compatable with God's Holy nature. I had all the proof I needed after I came to Jesus. If you are waitng to see proof but will not believe first, you will still be waiting. If you want proof that God exists look at the sky, trees, animals and yourself. What gives all of these things breath?. Elements cannot animate matter and make it living. God does.
Stop doubting and believe in Jesus. Then you will have all the proof you need. Faith first. Not proof.

Not only is there no "definitive proof", there isn't even any tenuous evidence. Belief in life after death is properly based on nothing other than pure faith.
Only a very few believers seem to understand the importance of faith - almost all of them insist that they have evidence or even proof, and make utter fools of themselves in doing so.

Yes. Recommend you read:
"Have You Lived Before This Life" and "MIssion Into Time"
Both written by L Ron Hubbard, both containing the results of specific research into this exact area and his results which are
definitive proof.

if faith is out of the scope for you then you should see it this way:
consciousness is something that is fabricated inside our brain thanks to a complex network of neurones.. those neurones get vision, hearing, smelling.. etc; information from our senses and then play with it (in different places of the brain) to create a feeling that we can perceive the world..
some recent studies have even identified places in the brain that deal with "consciousness".. i.e. all our "conscious" thoughts, decisions go through there..
some laboratory experiments have also shown that when you touch some areas of the brain, the person can have feelings of fear, happiness, sadness,.. and even the feeling of "having your soul out of your body" have been "simulated" on people in the laboratory..
this means that from a faith-free point of view, there is no such thing as "soul".. it all happens inside our physical brain..
and this said, it means that the concept of "life after death" is meaningless in science as when your brain stops working, all your "consciousness" just shuts down..
just like when you close your eyes and you stop seeing.. when your close your brain, you stop "feeling that you exist".. your consciousness vanishes..
the answer to your question is definitely: no.

There seem to be so many people here who are so SURE that there is no life after death as though they have PROOF that there ISN'T just as the question asks if there IS proof. Strange since I think either thesis is a little hard to prove. However in my own experience I would like to tell you all this:-
I helped a friend of mine through the dying experience since he was frightened by the thought of death. Most people are, but someone had to help him and it turned out to be me. It was a process that took several months and we met regularly three or four times a week. When he actually died I was asleep and was woken with .a shaking of my shoulder.Startled, I called out, "Who's that?" and the man I was talking through death answered me....."I am sorry to disturb you, but I just wanted to let you know that I just ied and to thank you so much for your help."
The following morning his wife telephoned me and as I heard it was here I just told her that I knew that her husband had died that night...because he told me.

Is their proof that they're is NOTHING after death. Like someone stops breathing and moving and people atoumatically think, Oh my goodness! They are gone for ever! I mean think about, Scientist don't TRULY know what happens to a person when they;re body stops working, so why do we think they're gone for ever, and pin the status of it being a "fact" on it. In a way, they idea that a person is gone forever after they die is just a theory!

. “As the spirit of man is not composed of material elements, it is not subject to decomposition and, therefore, has no death. It is self-evident that the human spirit is simple, single and not composed in order that it may come to immortality, and it is a philosophical axiom that the individual or indivisible atom is indestructible. At most, it passes through a process of construction and reconstruction.”

Well, there is NDE (near death experience) where people have flat-lined and came back to tell of being in a light, at peace and wanting to go closer to the source of life.
I don't buy these, btw, I think that the people who speak of them are genuine, but I don't think that is how death will be.
Other than that, there is no proof because none of us have died fully and came back to life.
